  1. At the moment I would say no. Things are pretty uncertain it will depend how they develop later in the day. It would probably be the case that they would issue one sort of last minute if things start to look more severe than they currently think, especially if features such as The Blob, Blue mentions above do develop. A fluid situation I think.
  2. I have heavy snow symbols up as far as me for the small hours, not that that means much. But the text forecast is quite encouraging for the eastern region with the talk of sleet or snow tonight more so in the south and more Sunday night into Monday. I'm not that hopeful, but you never know.
  3. Temp already -2.2c. Considering how little snow actually settled last night it has survived pretty well in the shade
  4. Wonder how low the temps can go tonight? Forecast is for -5 but I reckon if the sky stays clear we could go a few degrees lower.
  5. Yeah, but if you read the text it sounds like a right old mess. Areas of rain and snow, maybe 1-3cms in some areas and possibly upto 10cms more likely over Wales and the South West, but many places seeing little accumulation. Guess it just shows how uncertain it is. Hopefully we might get a better idea by tonight.
  6. Ended up with a covering maybe 0.5cm on grass and cars a bit patchy on other surfaces. Temp currently -0.5c dew point -1. Not masses of snow but it was good to see it falling last night and it looks quite pretty this morning. suspect I maybe a bit too far north and east to get much from Thursday's event, but looks like it might be good for those in the south of the region. Hoping for a small correction north. Enjoy Thursdays snow whoever gets some.
  7. Heavy fine snow here in north Essex which is settling on the grass and cars despite a temp of 1.7 and a dew point of 1.
  8. Temp slowly falling in north Essex. Down to 3.2 now. Dew point still 3 though.
  9. Weather online is showing dew points of 1 in the SE and EA and negative dew points on the near continent. Hopefully the negative dew points will filter our way.
  10. Temp got down to -3.8C at 245 this morning before the cloud rolled in. Still -1C now.
  11. That does sound more promising than the one for the eastern region which is the one I read.
  12. Let's hope so, but reading the latest forecast on the met office site, it doesn't sound too promising for us. Let's just hope for a nice surprise!
  13. If there is any snow this evening/overnight looks like the North West of the region, Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire, have the best chance. This is according to the latest MO forecast.
  14. Thanks for posting that. I found it very useful. A great explanation of the situation.
  15. I would be happier if the forecast temps on the met office site were a bit lower. Maxes of 5 tomorrow, 3 Thursday and Saturday doesn't scream snow to me. I know that other factors are involved and their temps have been a bit overdone lately but I would rather the temps were showing as 1 or 2 as maxes or preferably sub-zero but I realise that is probably asking a bit too much.
  16. I can see the MO warning has been updated. The expected amounts haven't changed but the warning area has been expanded a bit.
  17. Mmm. Disappointing outlook on the MO site. Band of sleet and snow moving east whilst weekening on Wednesday. Occasional wintry showers Friday. Looks like a reduction in the snow potential rather than the increase we were hoping for.
  18. Only really 1-3cms for the majority reading the text of the warning. 5cms for some and 10cm possible over high ground. Was kind of hoping for more.
  19. Quite an encouraging met office outlook to the 9th of Feb. There is a lot of mention of rain, sleet or snow. So let's hope it's the latter. The outlook beyond that hasn't changed but I still sceptical but we shall see.
  20. Felt positively sub-tropical out there today. Max was a bit warmer than expected at 10.2C. Still 8.2C now.
  21. Still made it down to -1.3C last night before the mist and drizzle arrived. Now 1.5C.
