  1. Radar seems to be showing precipitation building across Essex. Dry but cloudy here at the moment -4.7
  2. Looking at the radar showers seem to be building in the southern North Sea from mid Suffolk down to the Thames estuary.
  3. Yeah we've had showers on and off all day. Some heavier than others. A few more breaks in the clouds now allowing some sunny spells.
  4. Off topic but just seen they have issued red warnings for parts of Scotland today. Must be really bad up there.
  5. Sun keeps trying to come out here but then the snow comes back. Not as heavy now but snow none the less.
  6. Actually snowing pretty hard now. Glad I managed to get out for a bit of a play with my daughter earlier - no school for her today.
  7. Under estimated the snow depth this morning. I have now done an official measurement in several places and it's actually 13cm. The heaviest fall since Feb 2012. after a brief lull it's snowing again now. Still -3.7.
  8. Decent snow cover here this morning. More than in December which was 6cm so I'm estimating between 8 and 10. Still light snow now. weather station gave up the ghost at -5.9 at midnight, back online at -4.6 at 345. Been -4.6 ever since. ^Im in Coggeshall as well.
  9. There are still some doubts and I think it will be more Friday into Saturday for here. Also much lighter snow than further west. But you never know still a long way off. But those in the know in the model thread seem to think the cold air will be gone for us by Sunday.
  10. Let's hope so and it gives more of our region a good covering tonight. Looking at my local forecast things should get going in the early hours and continue most of the morning. Need a bit of luck though I think.
  11. There look to be some showers pushing through Suffolk now heading in my general direction. No idea if they will hold together long enough but if they do should hopefully give at least a dusting.
  12. I am finding the weather at the moment incredibly frustrating. Had some heavy showers yesterday but nothing settled until about 5 when the last one went through and left a covering. Nothing overnight then a brief heavier shower about 8 this morning which topped up the one from yesterday evening. Only a thin covering which has melted in the sun. Just up the road from me in Colchester there has been quite a bit. Other places towards the coast have done well and it's great to see the pics? The automated forecast on the met office site for tonight and tomorrow looks quite encouraging and a much colder day than today with a max of minus 2. I know everyone says to ignore these but, quite frankly, for a day ahead it's been more accurate than any forecast or warning I've seen for my location so let's hope it continues.
  13. Last heavy shower left a slight covering of the lightest fluffiest snow I've ever seen. temp maxed out at 0.9c at about 2 this afternoon. Now -1.1c. A few snowflakes blowing in the wind as well. am now in the amber warning zone for tomorrow we shall see
  14. Have to say I'm not wildly optimistic reading the regional forecast on the met office site, despite the warnings. "Some accumulations possible" about as good as it gets for this afternoon and tomorrow. Wednesday is looking our best shot for something more substantial ATM.
  15. This is reminding of Match 2013 at the mo where it was never quite cold enough and the snow never quite heavy enough to settle to any great degree. I know some areas did well but it was pants here. Hoping for things to pick up later.
