  1. Look forward to this - and also why NW Norfolk got 4" in 1 hour on Thursday am when all around got nothing!
  2. Have I missed something - looks the same to me
  3. Just in case you are going anywhere the QE roundabout has been closed from what I'm hearing and the Knight's Hill roundabout is blocked by a broken down lorry. Side roads are a nightmare - at least 3" and still not turned to rain
  4. Not this part of Norfolk it didn't - currently 3" and still snowing!
  5. Think this may have now gone the shape of the pear! Oh dear! Did NOT see that snow coming
  6. We certainly are - roads, pavements etc all white now - showers all day since 9.30am. Lots of thawing in between but since it has turned dark it's been lying readily.
  7. This could be useful - dutch radar updated every 5 minutes http://www.buienradar.nl/
  8. "mini-flurry" here in North West Norfolk - blink and you'll miss it!
  9. Bless you sweetie - even larger teapot my ar**.
  10. Still stand by this - when I said not exceptionally cold I was referring to the type of cold we had in January. Still feel that the overnights won't go as low as January - but ................ time will tell. Two out of three ain't bad!
  11. Female intuition and witchcraft are very similar! Before you all make me blush - bear in mind that it was totally generalised and had absolutely no detail shown. Of course, science did come into it but very little - mainly teleconnection stuff and a little bit of probability (after all I'm a statistician!). The sort of stuff Roger and Fred have done took a lot of time and effort and has also been pretty damn accurate - I'm fascinated by Roger's research and have always been aware that weather patterns tend to change around the time of a full moon. Thank's Paul - for God's sake don't tell the Met Office! Now to get the crystal ball back out for summer eh! Actually it may well go TU for February - my crystal ball didn't show the SSW at all but I'm still pretty confident that it'll be cold (but not as cold as early January) with little snow to talk about!
  12. One of the waterfalls (outside) was actually still water although we couldn't got into the mountain ones, apparently they are closed in winte.. Lauterbrunnen itself was beautiful and sunny but as you say the valley generally doesn't get any sun in winter. We were actually based in Engelberg but went over to Wengen/Lauterbrunnen and Grindelwald for a day. Lauterbrunnen was plus 5 and Grindelwald was minus 5 - about an hour later! Excellent snow in Engelberg as well - excellent runs on the Titlis - only one black run.
  13. Try very hard not to TBH - I'm no role model for anyone! Scared myself a bit when I re-read it today!
  14. Was in Lauterbrunnen over Xmas - Wengen has got plenty - conditions were pretty nigh on perfect!
  15. Why thank you guys - I know it's pretty generalised but I honestly think that's all you can do with an LRF. Not bad for an "old bat"!!
  16. Just been reviewing this - not bad for an amateur eh! "Pats self on back"
  17. It's freezing here - currently -4.7 (yes, MINUS!!!) the coldest lunchtime temperature here since before the dawn of time!
  18. I use Photobox - you can make your albums private, shared with people you trust or public. They are also terrific for prints if you want them. Very reliable site.
  19. You may pet the bee - he's lovely isn't he - landed on the windowledge two years ago on a bright February morning. Just took his photo when he got ever so slightly pi**ed off and tried to attack me!
  20. As you say mother nature - not father nature!
  21. :yahoo: -As someone pointed out - the weather wouldn't dare do anything different.
  22. So far I'm not too unhappy with mine "After mid-December we are due a change back to the milder, westerlies, a couple of windstorms before Christmas mostly affecting the north and west but for the rest of the country mild and relatively dry. This will take us through the Christmas period."
