  1. temps dropped to 17c here and still cloudy not that I'm complaining
  2. Just read the updated met warning reads to me like a bit of a downgrade unless I'm not reading between the lines
  3. Its reflecting government policy because they believe nothing exists north of the m4
  4. what directions will the storms be travelling bbc graphics indicated NW
  5. just stepped outside and there is a good bit of cloud and a breeze , doesn't fell particulary muggy at the moment
  6. at the moment here seems quite cloudy and cool with a north easterly breeze and met office downgraded temps to 21c
  7. Really not looking forward to this at all and it's the length of this that has me worried , is the thundery element expected to last all night in this rain or will that ease
  8. good news for me if there is any that storms that form tomorrow may be south of me the heaviest rain in the evening and overnight may be west of me even though I don't expect to stay dry will there be a residual cloud left over from these storms tonight that might affect those in the south tomorrow before the deluge that is expected to arrive later ?
  9. yep Wales and more western areas seem to be in for a soaking it does tie in with the met office warning here's part of it Indications are that a more organised band of heavy rain and thunderstorms will follow by Friday evening and overnight into Saturday, bringing 25 to 50 mm of rain more widely, mainly over the western half of the area.
  10. don't think they'll make it to me Think I'm too far North but won't these possibly leave a legacy of cloud tomorrow
  11. weren't you concerend about this this morning that storms today might inhibit ones tomorrow or was that someone else
  12. it's alright I overreacted to the warning thats all as this covers any storms and also the rain that follows
  13. I'm assuming the overnight risk is for more southern areas and not for my location just yet as I am anxious enough already about tomorrow without tonight also thrown into the mix edit - should have read the warnings more carefully that warning covers the entire warning zone and doesn't mean storms from 1am onwards in my locale also main risk is south of my location which ties in with what others have said so I need a little perspective I think
  14. can't see the yellow area changing much as even though it looks possible that storms before the band of rain will be further south the band of thundery rain is still moving North getting to Bristol by Evening if you believe the met forecast for the area seems best chance of storms might be ealier in the day not that I want any although I'm just guessing just out of curiosity where and when is the peak instability as someone a couple pages back says it was early in the day tomorrow
  15. looks like it's a knife edge for my location just have to wait and see but areas to the south of me look more prone met office has nothing tomorrow execpt a bright start with cloud thickening later until heavy and thundery rain pushes north overnight
  16. yep those charts seem to show really heavy rain for SW england and S Wales and if you get flooded don't expect help from government that's reserved for London and the SE
  17. A quick question is the trough going to move north ahead of this cold front or will it stay in the far south or will the front overtake it later on in the day edit - just read my post and that's 3 questions but you get the idea
