  1. latest bbc forecast has heavy showers with thunder in southern england this afternoon a drier slot through the midlands note the word drier the rain for elsewhere apart from scotland and northern ireland with only has a few scattered showers but definitely the further south you are the heavier the showers according to the beeb
  2. Met office lifts se areas of warning and its still quite cloudy here with limited sunny spells
  3. funny on todays bbc breakfast forecast they mentioned a lot of rain in east midlands i just hope it goes bang for everyone that desires it except me
  4. well temps for my part of the world are forecast to be 16 degress but i suspect thare are plenty more factors in play but the midlands is a large area so i may get lucky and miss out on the worst
  5. what is the main risks for today by that i mean dangers is it heavy rain , frequent lightning etc etc and what direction are they expectred to travel I'm trying to prepare myself because i find days like this very stressful and i've got about 12 hours of today to get through bbc breakfast forecast does show showers again for tomorrow possibly with thunder but i think today is the major day
  6. well I am not looking forward to this afternoon best thing to hope for is that they miss my locale edit 05:05 still lashing it down here but there is a end in sight
  7. focus on the word might and the BBC will always say the same thing even when the possibility has died down somewhat just not to look foolish
  8. unlike most i'd rather not see any edit - ust seen your location be my guest you can have it
  9. this type of weather isnt playing like forecast think the expected severe weather for the north of england yesterdy didnt turn out as bad either
  10. i wont lynch you due to lack of storms good old google now know what theta-e is , I don't understand it but at least i know it
  11. and thats where i think the better chance for those that want storms may get them and of course the sun is also setting but I'm not sure how much impact that will have
  12. here is the detail http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/weather/warnings/#?tab=warnings&regionName=ee&fcTime=1400626800 read todays and tomorrows and you'll the details which might explain current
  13. even the met office rain forecast for 22:00 only shows rain the se and at current rate i would have thought that heavy rain would be in north sea by then I will point out again the weather warnings for the e/se is a different warning with is due to expire at 23.55
  14. personally speaking I think theres more chance tomorrow when the actual front has gone through rather than tonight which seems to taking the immigrant path from france into the se
  15. there is a less intense rain stretchng west which is also moving north and it's this band which i think is expected to move across most of england and wales overnight but at the moment that is nowehre near as heavy as that stuff further east
  16. people should also bear in mind that the warning for the se and e for these storms is not the same warning for the overnight period for the rest of england/wales because these warning mention thunderstorms and frequesnt lightning more especially the further east you are while the wider warnings suggest a band or rain with possibly some thunder/convection embedded within it
  17. as i am not a fan of this type of weather as you know those intense downpours in the east can I assume that there not the ones going to come through midlands later on or is it the band that is sitting slightly further south and west
  18. are these showers over the next few days a case of everyone seeing them or more hit and miss affairs that vary day by day ?
  19. not sure i'm reading that right but its look its getting better after this next week but all the rain seems to come in 3 to 4 days starting from tuesday possible flooding somewhere
  20. and where would the link for these charts be located for those who do not look at them often
