  1. Something a bit different. You have to be 3200m above sea level in order to reach 0°c on Thursday, in DECEMBER.
  2. No, but you can gather general trends and the trend remains the same, wet and occasionally windy.
  3. Since model watching from 2006, I can't remember the last time I saw such boring model output.
  4. Huge area of low pressure above the pole (polar vortex) locks in the cold weather across the high latitudes. The mid-latitudes (Europe and the US) can't tap into any of that cold. Quite normal.
  5. Over the years, I've noticed that the pinnacle of desperation comes from looking at individual perturbations. Really no change for at least the next two weeks if the models are correct.
  6. Not the same low pressure. The low you're talking about darts out from the eastern seaboard and temporarily merges with the larger low pressure to the north, before breaking away, stalling, meandering for a good 4 days (which is normal) before moving and dissipating away. Look at the run again.
  7. Models are painting a pretty sobering picture of the amount of rainfall. 100mm of rain for Hull? I know in previous experience Hull doesn't do too well with those amounts.
  8. Yes the accumulated precip chart looks sobering. Personally, I love rain, but for the sake of those in the NW, I hope this doesn't happen.
  9. Sorry just saw the link above, im tired, cheers!
  10. Remember that a red warning is issued if there is imminent danger to life. Road closures are bad, but it isn't necessary severe.
  11. I know things can change, and they can definitely change very quickly. I know we are only in late November, and perhaps 2010 has skewed my expectations a little. It's just that, every time I check the models, it seems that the blowtorch westerly/SW regime is getting stronger and not subduing like some are saying. I mean look at the state of this from the GEM & GFS....yuck!!
  12. Not a reload really, just a seasonably cold Polar Maritime airmass.
  13. AOL do their news like they do their internet service providing. Awful.
  14. What's the prognosis for Hertfordshire, I'm just really confused.
  15. The storms will never reach the south coast tonight, I've noticed the storms follow a path up the French coast on fast looping radar runs.
  16. GFS 12z bring the deluge further east across Oxford & Reading, really worrying!
