  1. Looking at the latest radar and chat in the storms thread, I don’t think we’re missing much. There was a lot more happening this time last weekend. All happened/happening the other side of the channel. Paris in the firing line for a pretty firey storm.
  2. I can’t see where this rain is meant to be coming from either. I expect the warning will magically disappear overnight. The closest I’ve come to heavy rain and thunderstorms this weekend was watching it earlier on Big Jet TV at Heathrow!
  3. The aliens have arrived in Dorset this evening! On a more serious note, I know there is a more technical term for this type of cloud formation and why they form?
  4. Absolutely awful out there right now. Bar yesterday, another poor bank holiday weekend as this very poor spring continues.
  5. Absolutely awful here on the coast, though it appears to be moving at a reasonable pace. Need to go into Weymouth, so am holding off a bit until the rain eases.
  6. We just can’t seem to string together more than a couple of days of decent weather at the moment. Tomorrow looks pretty good after a grey start. As for next weekend…
  7. Don’t want to depress you even more Beka, but that area of rain over Hampshire, part of Dorset and into Wiltshire is about the only rain in the entire UK! I was wondering why it was getting dark here.
  8. Couldn’t agree more. One of the best April’s ever weather wise coincided with us being locked down!
  9. High of 16c but stubborn cloud all day in this part of Wilts. Looks like we’re retrogressing on the temperature front as the week goes on and becoming unsettled again by the weekend. This awful spring continues.
  10. I just laughed when the BBC weather forecast said tomorrow will be the warmest day of the week! Weren’t the models showing 20-21 for next week a few days ago?
  11. A much better day today, no showers. Bracing for another cold and wet day tomorrow. Looking drier and a bit warmer thereafter, but no heatwave, not even a ‘soft heatwave’.
  12. Today has been an almost carbon copy of yesterday. Dry morning, wet and windy afternoon and evening, no break in the rain and 5c at 3pm this afternoon. Folks, weather wise for April it doesn’t get much….well, choose your own word…than that. I really feel for those who have paid to have a holiday this week. Awful weather.
  13. Managed to get away with a fairly dry and sunny morning here on the coast. Pretty windy, but nothing too exceptional so far. Looking at the radar, I think the afternoon will be very different to this morning.
  14. Managing to hold onto the sun here on the coast making it feel pleasant. Been a nice morning to enjoy a long walk. Can see the cloud off to the West mind.
  15. A couple of windy warnings for Tuesday and Wednesday: UK weather warnings WWW.METOFFICE.GOV.UK Met Office UK weather warnings for rain, snow, wind, fog and ice. 16. Was expecting more rain than we have seen so far today. Moved my afternoon walk to the morning. I needn’t have bothered.
  17. You don’t say…. Wettest March in over 40 years for England WWW.METOFFICE.GOV.UK England has had its wettest March since 1981, with Wales and Northern Ireland also seeing one of their wettest Marches on record. And though it’s not been the coldest of months, with all the cloud and rain, it hasn’t exactly felt very warm either.
  18. What a complete and utter **** month March has been weather wise. Far from being a spring month, it’s been a continuation of a pretty bleak winter. Storm Mathis rounding it off nicely. As for putting the clock’s forward. The only change I’ve really noticed this time was that it’s darker in the mornings! Yet to see the benefit in the evenings because the weather is so poor. To end on a positive, it looks like an improvement is on its way, just in time for Easter.

  20. Just popped out to the supermarket and it’s absolutely raw out there. Wouldn’t mind if there was a few cm of snow.
  21. So we have another 3 days of grey and cold to look forward to. Bit milder Sunday, before more rain comes in. Parts of the North took an absolute pasting last night.
