  1. Quite a shift East on the latest GFS. We don't want anymore of those, one more could see us out of the game entirely.
  2. My word, that squall line has erupted big time entering the Netherlands and Belgium :O
  3. Considering possibly booking tour 3 or 4. Will be one incredible adventure. The pictures paint a thousand words themselves!
  4. Just need a bit more westward correction on top of what has been happening on this possible plume event. I counted it out a day or so ago, but it has us just about tapping into the juice now. Pinch of salt taken for the moment on this though.
  5. In Peterborough travelling to Spalding earlier, went through an amazing hailstorm with freak strong winds swaying my car! Was unreal! Let's hope that lot comes over us soon
  6. Very low deep booming! Wow! Localised flash flooding too on the A47 I've been told!
  7. Noticed some high based towers advecting NW earlier. May give something for the northerners soon! Getting very dark from that approaching rain band.
  8. Wish that storm over Montpellier was here!! 340 strikes per minute on that thing down there!!
  9. The fuel is certainly there. Sun is still out here and feeling very humid despite the moderate SE wind. The band is already showing some brighter echoes developing too. 26c here currently.
  10. Wow. Feeling very oppressive here. Quite windy too, but feels nice. It's unbearable indoors!
  11. Some decent lightning on there now. Remember going on that Ferris wheel haha!
  12. Where the upper winds are strong (jet stream) this will enable a storm to keep on being fuelled as the shear tilts the storm, therefore enabling the updraughts to be more sustained. Little shear will mean little tilt and resulting in the downdraughts in the form of rain cutting off the updraught which is the main fuel. This will cause the storm to fizzle out quickly. These are known as pulse storms.
  13. Crikey, that is a monster over SW France! Hoping it holds out and reaches our shores!
  14. Just arrived back from my storm chase into Yorkshire. Must've witnessed about 5 or more different cells this afternoon, 3 passing me over Burton Salmon and ferrybridge, and another 3 driving back down the A1. What a decision I made aswell, as we have had absolutely diddly squat back here. I really would've been kicking myself big time! This will go down as one of my most successful and most dramatic chases in UK history! Credit to all on here for advice and especially to weather experts I.e two Nicks! Here's a few more from today
  15. What a day it's been for the South Yorkshire folk! I must say I've forgotten how scary it is driving in a proper menacing storm! The street lights were on, day turned to night, road was flooding and much of the time I was aquaplaning! Frightening is an understatement!
  16. Round 2 about to commence! Hats off to Nick F. Couldn't have been more spot on.
  17. Brilliant rotation on this thing. Must be the mesocyclone associated with this beast.
  18. Cumulus rapidly forming and trying to rise. Keeping an eye out now and will perhaps consider heading north in a bit.
  19. Cheers for that Nick. Certainly feeling the juice now I must say. Touching 28-29c here now.
