  1. Got this over the notre dam as the storm cleared off towards Reims and onto Belgium. Happy days!
  2. Just skirted East of us the main core, but heard some awesome deep booms and witnessed very heavy rain and saw a fair share of lighting. Not bad!
  3. About to experience a Parisian beauty bearing in on me! Looking forward to this one and it's level 2 estofex warning along with it!!
  4. Sounds awesome! Will definitely be on the watch there and update back to here.Meanwhile, a storm has gone into a bit of overdrive between Corsica and Italy, throwing out 230+ strikes per minute!!! Edit: 280+ strikes now :O
  5. Exciting stuff! Cannot wait for it! Will be spending my whole trip radar watching instead of shopping and sightseeing haha.
  6. My word. This one I bet is shocking many unaware holiday makers! I've witnessed a Mediterranean thunderstorm on a couple of occasions. Can really get quite exciting when they do happen, let's put it that way!
  7. I'm in Paris as from Wednesday. By the look of things, I will have my camera at the ready because the models are showing some stormtastic charts! Never experienced a real French classic yet, but this could be on the cards!
  8. Very surprised there was not more thunder with those showers over Lincs. Some of them rainfall rates were very intense. Next week looking good. Off to Paris on the 5th, and forecast to be 38c!! Should see some storms over there I'd say from the 5-9th August!
  9. Yeah gotta say it, that Bournemouth storm looked like the best of the bunch that night. Incredible strike rate it had on it. Think that will top this summer's storm activity unless August can better it somehow!
  10. One day I will go to Malaysia just for this! To think this is the daily norm for them
  11. That's pretty much the exact path last Thursdays storms tracked too!
  12. Been raining for half an hour here so far. Scary thing is, it's meant to continue on here until 6AM the next morning! Winds could also be quite remarkable later on.
  13. Indeed you're right! It seemed extra special that one too as it was a resumption of night storms what seemed to be on pause for years!
  14. My word. If this channel low was happening in winter, then this site would be in meltdown. Certainly looks to be some alarming rainfall rates.
  15. Now that would be quite worrying for me! Wouldn't mind taking a trip to North Norfolk for that though, could be very interesting!
  16. Depends on location. This year for me has been better than 2014 thus far. I largely missed out on thundery activity here in 2014. Whereas this year I've witnessed possibly two storms that would be candidates for the best of the decade. I'd take summer 2015 over the likes of 2007-12 any day of the week!
  17. Really was a very tedious winter indeed. It wasn't even that mild either, just 4-8c pretty much the whole time from what i remember. I find it from my view so much more challenging to get snow here more so than plume events being an equivalence. Snowy spells really do have the tendency to go right down to the wire in this country. It's a nightmare! In the past I've seen an easterly be completely wiped off at less than 24 hours out back in 2005!
  18. Best time to go in my opinion. Thats if you like hot weather, but with an increased risk of seeing a cracking storm.
  19. You're spot on there. Last year, I was seeing the 17th July 2014 lightning flickering as far away as Wiltshire, Hampshire and Surrey! Well over 100 miles away. Last night was no exception either, with reports on here about seeing the Cambridge lightning all the way from Barnsley in South Yorkshire! People wouldn't believe it if you told them that's what cracks me up!
  20. Looked bloody awesome mate. I never even heard any thunder or had any rain hardly lol, but just the sheer sight of the amount of lightning going on all across the Eastern skyline was unprecedented. That alone was marvellous to look at. Hope things like this are becoming a common trend again! Feels like we have reverted back to what the good old days of the 90's were like!
  21. Remember a number of reports of hail roar on the day of June 28th 2012 too around the Coventry and Hinckley area. I've never heard it myself, so would be interesting!
  22. This July in my location easily beats 2014. Never seen such frequent lightning in my life until last night. Did not see that one coming at all. I thought the 3rd wouldn't have even been challenged. Didn't hear a sound of any thunder at all though haha. Look at that beauty! Germany, France, Benelux, it's our turn for you to be cam watching it seems
  23. Jeez it's a disco to my SE. Cambridge is taking an absolute pummelling by this. Nasty echoes returned in that area. Wouldn't be surprised to hear of flash flooding over that way.
