  1. 5 MIN SNOWFALL THATS ALL DISAPPOINTING, TUESDAY LOOKS BETTER
  2. I had a snow shower at 4, doesn't look like much precipitation about.
  3. and despite that some parts of the UK could be getting snow tomorrow, quite a turn around!
  4. The stats prove the ECM is the best model at day 6, and the GFS always blows up storms, so I'd go with the ECM tonight. Expect the UKMO to back track tomorrow.
  5. The cold looks like dominating through the trend period, with mild weather rather transient. Further chances of snow for the North of the UK through the coming 10 days, and even to the south if the ECM verifies.
  6. Tuesdays looking like it could be more interesting for snow
  7. If your talking about the whole of the UK, then there is wintry weather on offer
  8. But cold and wintry in the near term for many and day 9+ will change on the next run, so plenty to be positive for now.
  9. dunno but the other regionals are busy buts its just always dead on here
  10. it's dead on here, you wouldn't think there was a chance of snow this weekend
  11. Terrier mate, it's zonal pal but its cold zonal with snow for many parts of the UK, we always remain cautious though mate.
  12. Temperatures will start of mild on Saturday, but by Saturday evening temperatures will have fallen significantly.
  13. Met Office Warnings Issued For: West Yorkshire Yellow early warning of snow From: 0600 on Sat 10 January To: 1200 on Sun 11 January Updated 5 hours ago Heavy showers are likely across the warning area, these falling as snow at low levels across much of Scotland and Northern Ireland, but over high ground further south. Within the area there could be localised small snow accumulations away from immediate coasts at low levels in the north, whilst over high ground 5-15 cm may occur in places. Temperatures will fall significantly during Saturday, this also posing the risk of ice where showers occur. The public should be aware of the risk of some difficult driving conditions.
  14. Great post by PolarWarsaw, it is unfortunate that London looks unlikely to get snow, but it is a fact it's one of the mildest places in the UK. If I lived in London I would certainly not expect to see prolonged cold and snowy spells, as there very rare. If we do get snow it will be the second snowfall of the winter for many in the North.
  15. Great post Tamara. The only problem is the predicted cold spells keep being pushed back, first it was meant to be the middle of December, then the end, then the middle of January and now end of January. I do hope your right though, Ian's post was more positive, and I do see short cold spells bringing snow to lower levels in the North, but I can't see anything prolonged yet.
  16. The best we can get out of this setup in the medium term for cold is something similar to boxing day, which brought snow to the midlands and North. If we can get a cold enough NW like the ECM shows on Sunday then this will be possible. Snow for lower levels in the south looks very unlikely in the next couple of weeks though.
  17. I just don't understand whats interesting about storms, we always get rain and wind. No it's not
  18. You change your mind a lot EM! The GEFS ensembles are still interesting for mid january, with plenty of MLB.
