  1. Been a wee bit blawy up here and more expected over the weekend. Damp, dreich and very calm at the moment, had a few big crashes of thunder during the night too. Temp currently 8.4. Central heating being fixed today, so surely that means that it'll now start getting a wee bit colder! I live in hope!
  2. Crazy temps over the last few days. Thursday evening it dropped to 4c, Friday night up to 17c. Currently 13.6c, calm and cloudy. We had a mini power cut on Friday night, off for about an hour. Plenty of candles on hand, plus oil lamps and torches. Then the internet crashed and has been playing up something terrible since. Spent a lot of time talking to BT in the hope it will sort itself out. It's been OK now for a whole thirty minutes! The joys of living in the Highlands and Islands!
  3. Mornin' all! So mild again up here, currently 12.7c, cloudy and calm. Saturday looks interesting though, a wee puff and some sideways rain too! Ah, back to the joys of a real Scottish autumn!
  4. Proper Autumn weather this week, lots of wind and bucket loads of rain. Still not that cold either which is fine by me. Big fire on in sitting room whilst Himself tackles the central heating. Thermostat removed and new one required. Hopefully within the next week that should be sorted.
  5. It got a wee bit blowy last night, very calm again today, temp currently 14.1c . Winding up for a hefty blast overnight and tomorrow morning. Ach well, we've just had to wait a bit longer than we normally do for this kind of weather. At least it's mild, for that I'm thankful!
  6. Aye well, it had to put in an appearance sometime! Cloudy and cool here this morning, currently 9.9c. Still dry, so I'd best get on and make the most of it!
  7. Michty Me! Anither cauld yin this mornin', currently 1.3c, clear and sunny. I'm away to get the stove lit as the central heating is still not working! Gggggrrrrr!
  8. Well, what a difference a day makes! It's 11c this morning, calm with light cloud. But at least we don't have howling winds and horizontal rain. Time enough for that yet though.
  9. Morning all! Yesterday turned out to be another stonker of a day, warm in the sunshine. Rather cold here this morning, temp at 7am was 1.9 and guess what.....the central heating has still not been fixed! I feel my foot is itching to boot someone's backside soon. But off course, he'll fix it and then it'll go mild again! Best get a few more logs on the stove then.
  10. Another lovely morning up here, but noticeably colder than of late. I'm told we have brambles now ready to pick lurking behind the garage, great with ma porridge and my home made bramble whisky liquer!
  11. I'd love to turn my heating on as it is currently 4.7c. Heating is broken, big fire on in sitting room later and wood burner in the kitchen may be lit later today if it stays this cold. A certain party promised to have the central heating fixed by the beginning of October, mind you , he didn't say what year that would be! Extra fleece required today by the look of things and some wood chopping will be required too!
  12. Yesterday was another stinkingly gorgeous one, with a nice display of the Aurora to finish off! It's cold again this morning, temp currently 4.7 but it looks like it'll stay sunny for the best part of the day. Central heating still not fixed despite a certain party promising it would be done by the beginning of October. Mind you, he didn't say what year that would be! Says he'll look at it this weekend. I live in hope!
  13. Morning all! A clear and cold start to the day, temp currently 6.4, pressure 1004. Long may it continue!
  14. Breezy, sunny and warm, what we should have had in July! Better late than never I suppose, and it looks set to stay all week. Yes!!!
  15. Rather a nice day here, if a tad breezy! Great for getting holiday washing dried! Will most likely miss the Lunar Eclipse as will be sending snores heavenward from beneath the duvet. I'm not switching the central heating on yet....it's broken! But it better be fixed by October or there will be bloodshed and it won't be mine!!!
  16. Morning campers! Yet another stunning day ahead up here. The Indian summer has well and truly arrived! Cool at the moment but once the sun gets going I think it will turn out to be a very pleasant day.
  17. Yesterday, horizontal rain. Today, wall to wall sunshine! More please!
  18. So much for a windy day yesterday! It turned out flat calm and midge hell! However, normal service has now been resumed and we have horizontal rain up here. Currently 10c, pressure 995. Autumn has arrived!
  19. The past few days have been just magic, a wee bitty breezy today with high cloud, but guess what....back to normal service tomorrow! It was fun while it lasted!
  20. Mornin' Peeps! Third day in a row for wall to wall sunshine up here, and not before time! Stunning days, chilly nights = big fire on! I hope it doesn't stay too cold too long as our central heating boiler has decided to pack in and it could take a wee while to get the part we need. Did someone say that tourists were in short supply? Can we send you some? They are still here in their droves and I struggle to get parked in Portree. Been one of the busiest summers in many a year with hotels remaining fully booked and turning away others. Likewise with self catering and B&B. Roll on October so I can get a wee rest!
  21. Mornin' Campers! Ye Gods! It's a bit nippy this morning, only 8c, cloudy and calm. Any chance we may get a nice warm(ish) September?
  22. Very mild here this morning and we've had a couple of really nice days too! But I guess that'll be our summer for this year then! Dare I say it, it's beginning to feel just a teensy bit Autumnal? I don't mind that really, Autumn being my favourite season. But it's still a bit early! I've only got about 7 weeks left to work and then the season ends. So I'll go from having two jobs to none! Not to worry, got plenty to do at home, pity I don't get paid for it!
  23. And it's still raining up here! It was coming' soon like stair rods on Saturday, dry for the best part yesterday and back to stair rods this morning. Currently 14.1c. Longing for some sun....
  24. Another few 5hitty days ahead up here. Ye Gods, how we long for a wee bit o' sunshine! Thursday...dry and breezy...no sun! Friday...howling gale and horizontal rain. Saturday....see Friday! Sunday...dreich and damp. I think I can safely say that summer (what's that then?) has completely bypassed Skye And Western Highlands. So effing miserable, I pity the tourists who are probably spending their time wringing out their clothes, poor souls! There doesn't seem to be anything on the horizon remotely resembling summer, maybe we'' have a lovely balmy Autumn then? Oh, please......!
  25. Mornin' all! I just want to say we had summer here yesterday! Yup, one da only this year and now winter has returned! Gales, horizontal rain and cauld! stained glass window! Just a few days of sunshine isn't too much to ask for is it? Oh, aye, a wee rumble o' thunder there, a big storm please, that should clear the air a bit!
