  1. Some very interesting potential for tonight down here, let's hope something happens to keep us all up for much of the night! Unfortunately the 00Z GFS was a big outlier, but amazing if it actually does come off....
  2. Beautiful sunny start to the day here and starting to warm up after a cool start, currently 17C. Looking interesting for tonight, if you like thunderstorms. Fingers crossed for a good light and sound show here after yesterday's dismal offerings.
  3. My word, that awful wind!! Would be quite pleasant otherwise. Loads of cloud here but more sun coming through now at least. Thoroughly disappointed so far lol.
  4. Not here, overcast clag and feeling quite cool now in the howling wind. Looking at the satellite there's a lot of cloud about. Forecast of 28C is way out unless things change drastically. Fingers crossed for tomorrow though, eh!
  5. Had half an hour of lovely warm sunshine once that front cleared. Now the grey Atlantic muck has rolled in and strong winds are blowing, yuck!! Warm though at 23C currently.
  6. Humid here after a warm and sunny start, had a torrential downpour for about a minute but no thunder. Few spots of rain here and there now and 21C currently. Hopefully this lot will clear off sharpish and the sun will be back out.
  7. The last 10-15 years has been incredibly poor for the supposedly most thunder prone region of the UK. I don't know how old you are, but in my 43 years in this area I've witnessed a multitude of decent summer storms, some amazing all nighters, and a couple of supercells. All that activity seems to stay on the continent nowadays but I'm hoping it will change this year, who knows?! Would be so good to see storms like some of those I watched in the 80's.
  8. Haha, everywhere but Kent on that chart. Of course, just for fun at this stage. Might be a complete fail as per most of the last 10 years...
  9. Not to the Met Office it doesn't, they've got warnings out for the whole of S England and E Anglia. I've not seen anywhere that it would be a boring Kent clipper situation, if you have can you post info please?
  10. The situation for Sunday evening onwards holds potential for some severe thunderstorms breaking out. That'd be amazing but I'm not getting my hopes up. 27C here so it's the warmest day of the year, so far. So enjoyable especially as I've had leave since Tue, lucky me!
  11. Sunday evening and overnight looks more interesting than tomorrow here in the S.
  12. Another glorious morning here with clear blue skies, strong sunshine and a current temperature of 22C. More wind today, hopefully it won't increase any further. It was at a very pleasant level yesterday, we don't need it howling away annoyingly.
  13. Interesting chart, to me that first cold front marks a line of instability, the cooler air really comes in behind the second cold front. So the E half of the country could well see 30C if sunny, with the W half much cooler. All to be decided still.
  14. Another beautiful start to the day here and already a warm 19C at 08:45.
  15. Ooh, I'm liking Darren Bett's update! More heat for us in the S is good news for storm chances. Will be monitoring the situation with great interest - fingers crossed that many of us across the country see some thundery activity.
  16. Lovely warm evening, still 21C here at nearly 22:30, fan on in bedroom and summer duvet sorted
  17. Not a great chart for early June, true, but I've seen worse and it's 9 days away so, highly likely to change somewhat (for the better, I hope).
  18. Beautiful day here, lots of sunshine with the odd fair weather cloud, very light winds and 26C. Lovely!
  19. Yep, ridiculous. Almost like people resent the SE getting the best weather. But it's the way it is! I wouldn't live anywhere else in the UK, it's not warm or sunny enough here for my liking much of the time. 23C here now, lovely The weekend? Who knows, hopefully at least one good day and a thunderstorm or two.
  20. As always, I note the jealousy and mean spirited attitudes directed at the poor SE which cannot help generally enjoying the best weather in the UK. Perhaps the large numbers of said people in receipt of such a stipend has a direct correlation with a third of the entire UK population living in the aforementioned region alone?
  21. Agree. Seems to be a lot of pessimism in the model thread but to my amateur eyes there is quite a lot of interest for the weekend. Saturday looks sunny and hot then possibly thundery in the evening/overnight. Sun could be a fine day and then Mon looks be very interesting...the output does remind me a bit of 80's-90's plumes that actually last a few days, not hours as has been the case since 2007. Of course it could all be a damp squib, it is the UK, but we are LONG overdue a decent thundery episode!
