Sleety rain around 8.15 this morning and feeling bitterly cold in the wind. Hoping that next batch of showers manage to fall as snow here.

Psychologically at least, this wednesday is an important day for winter lovers.
I cannot wait. Not a fan of these light nights at all.

Looks to be some beefy showers and possibly some lightning coming across tfor South wales. :).It's really humid and muggy out there too. Fingers crossed.

Let's pray for another 2010, if a streamer sets up who knows what could happen. I'm just worried about all the comments about sleet.
What a year that was! Real dry powdery snow. Hopefully it won't turn too wet or sleety later, the air seems very crisp and perfect conditions right now.

Had a light flurry here a little while ago. No rain at all, just pretty snow flakes. No covering left, just a few flakes on the bins and car rooftops. Hopeful for later.

Snowing here!
I'm jealous. So near and yet so far!
Could you waft some down towards Cardiff Bay/Grangetown please? Lol

don't worry - IT'S COMING CLAIRE
I hope so. I've waited a long long time for this!

I didn't see a flake in Cardiff, but in all honesty I didn't expect to that early on. It was way too warm and dew points were way too high. Would be nice if we could catch shower this evening, the rain has dried up nicely and the temperature has dropped now too. Fingers crossed!

I'm keeping an eye on the radar and the sleet is definitely getting closer to me.
-
My met office app has updated to show sleet at 6pm and light snow showers this evening, that's an improvement on the heavy rain that was forecast.
Hoping we get a nice surprise after waiting so long.
-
It's certainly looking like our best chance of the season. I'm not expecting snowmageddon, but a covering would be nice.
Roll on Thursday/Friday! Let the lamppost watching commence.

I'm still waiting patiently for some real cold weather to arrive. I had such high hopes for this winter, but the cold keeps getting pushed back time and time again. But, I guess it's only January and we have a good 8-10 weeks yet.

-5.5c in Bute Park this morning. A thick frost and bitterly cold still.
Fingers crossed this is the start of a good Winter for us all.
-
It's going to be a cold one tonight 1.3c at 6pm in Cardiff's Bute Park.
-
There was some very heavy hail showers here overnight. They turned everything white and stayed icy, they're only just starting to melt on the trampoline now.
-
There's definitely a much colder feel to the start of the season, feels totally different to the last few years. I'm hopeful we're in for a good one, we sure do deserve a proper Winter at last.

It's way too hot for me. 28.2c in Cardiff at the moment and my head is banging. I wish those thunder storms were heading for us tomorrow night. I'm looking forward to a cooler Wednesday and Thursday.
-
Very hot today here in Cardiff. Net weather forecast has a thunderstorm forecast this evening, nothing on the met office's forecast though. I am really hoping net weather are right, nothing on the radar of interest yet.

Went for a walk earlier around Heath, actually felt mild. What an awful winter for us! But saying that though we get warmer and sunnier summers! ☀️
I think I'm the only one who dislikes Summer and sunlight. Give me clouds, rain and winds any day.
It's bright out there this morning and felt much milder than it actually is. I was surprised to see Bute Park weather station down to 0.8c this morning. Up to 1.5c now, but feels much warmer than that.

7c here. No chance for Cardiff tonight.

Sleet here in north Cardiff Clair
That sent me flying to my window!
Just rain here.

The snow part mainly for ground 200m+ unfortunately Clair and then only 1-2cm. Ice the main hazard.
Heavy precip moving across Wales at the moment but probably too warm now for anything but rain/hail from this, we shall see. Higher mid wales could see quite a bit in a short time from this shower. Milder air associated with the band of precip.
I think I'd be happy just to see a flake falling after the last few winters. It's definitely too warm to fall as snow though.

Had some huge flakes here for a while, but it's turned back to rain. Hopefully it will soon turn back to snow and give us a proper covering.
