  1. Despite some variability, a big positive today is that the high retrogression seems to have reduced in likelihood.
  2. That would make the national forecast given only yesterday totally wrong. Can’t believe pros could be THAT far out at 48 hours?
  3. More unsettled could mean a more amplified pattern, which may lead to more chance of a plume? High risk though!
  4. The UKMO is a concern. When one of the big three shows that at 144, it canon be dismissed.
  5. Hopefully not. Once that happens, you tend to get stuck in the pattern. We need to get that HP further east.
  6. Didn’t say I want unsettled westerlies - but at least you’d get some sun with those. That ECM 240 chart will be dull and cool for most.
  7. I’d rather have semi-unsettled westerlies than that. Cool and cloudy for most of the south.
  8. I would suggest that there’s a lot more to it than just AAM!
  9. You could say that about 99% of all summers, and be right 99% of the time! But this June has a better chance of being a good one than many in recent years.
  10. Hoping and praying that doesn’t happen. We don’t want HP slipping west.
  11. 2004 and 2007 had good starts to June, and went downhill fairly quickly. So I am always quite wary!
  12. Hopefully without the North Sea drift which gave surface temperatures of 18C with 24C uppers!
  13. I’d take this pattern all summer. With the occasional plume to get into the 30s. I sense it’s only a matter of time.
  14. Not for the east on the above two charts - just for fun at that range though!
  15. Makes a change for another airport’s readings to be questioned - poor Heathrow is bracing itself for the annual onslaught!
  16. Great output and I’d say there’s a great chance of this June being a good one - certainly better than in recent years (2018 excepted). And it reached 25C today - su saving Spring 2021 from being a rare example of one that didn’t reach that mark.
  17. Don’t think it makes a lot of difference whether Spain currently has extremely hot air. It can build there very quickly. I’m sure it took longer to build last year, and we were able to tap into it a couple of times later on.
  18. Looks like a convergence zone, possibly aided by some uplift from the Downs?
  19. Starting to draw air from more of a southerly direction. Should see temps in the SE shoot up after a fairly slow start in places.
  20. Maybe not - but I don’t want to see any rain, storm or not, for at least a month - that’s how sick of it I am!
  21. As much as a good storm is nice, do we really want more rain?
