  1. Breaking curfew I'd like to go up to 4.7C however I do sense it will not be "westerlies all the way" do not assume it will be mild dominated I see at least one cold spell & at least one notable nasty windstorm.
  2. COP21: Rhone Glacier drone footage shows ice retreat http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-34908482
  3. Must be very sexy indeed... I do have an incline December will not be awash with zonality - I'm going to have a week or 2 absence from this site ta-ra. Unless something stirs up from the gutter?
  4. Very well written I do believe the core of the winter so to speak will be during January but I do not think February is a bust. Once winter 15/16 comes to a finale we can access how well or not you guys did.
  5. These barrages of lows modelled are having a go eroding +ve heights in Western Europe something we need to look out for once pressure wanes interest grows as shown by end of latest GFS perhaps we may have to endure stormy, wet conditions in ushering something much more seasonal? Seems like a waiting game!
  6. How sexy? Well these so called midies enjoy this oppressive cloud fest crud. A horrible day looking for winter to make a pounce...
  7. It is rather zonal with 'potential' any depressions will be carried like a conveyor belt straight to our shores I sense a very unsettled start to the winter is coming. I think we can wipe 2 weeks for any meaningful cold/snow aside from fleeting wintriness on uplands of northern Britain. I expect this to increasingly wane as we got into mid December into festive period I'll rather endure this now than New Years. A lot is riding on this Siberian high by the sound of it - it may be the catalyst we need to initiate something much more favourable.
  8. Catastrophic really on southern flank easily mean speeds over 100mph I wold imagine the mayor would allow folk to seek refuge in London Underground way worse than 1987 doesn't bear thinking about.
  9. If that vicious beast was over the UK a state of emergency would be declared.
  10. I woke up to a good frost second air frost in a row all change coming up overnight.
  11. Sounds like fun Shangri-La Hotel? Luxurious different world to Travelodge lol. Amazing views quite envious!!
  12. London?? You love that place don't ya. We hope you make it out alive. Weather looks pants it will make you feel more at home though.
  13. First air frost of the 'season' very early for it being in Greater London. Brilliant blue skies, visibility is great and with the sun low in the sky it really does feel winter is creeping in. The week ahead does not look particularly mild, average to slightly below average at times. I would prefer to keep the current weather as when the wind veers westerly we get all the nasty cloud and drizzle. Have a nice day all.
  14. It will be 100% snow Sod's law there ain't any precipitation. Gritter gone past.
  15. Nice! The E4 is showing accumulations enough to make a snowman in fact. A constant trail of showers..
  16. Hey All, the dew point is on the low side -5C while the temperature is 2C an air frost is coming already sub zero in a number of places there may be some snow towards dawn although confidence is low here.
  17. Are you sure that's right? On BBC Weather app it say it's supposed to be 2C as of 1700 where you are.
  18. On the latest GFS you can see a disturbance tracking south see circled I do not believe it was on the last run shows how dynamic it is!
  19. London checking in a good snowfall which lasted for 15m early in mornin' some very large flakes. And a dusting on rooftops already I've seen more snow than winter 13/14 & 14/15 that is absolutely appalling!
  20. Chilly. Currently 5C with the DP -1C it looks less marginal overnight compared to last night all we need is precipitation.
