  7. RÚV English - RÚV.is WWW.RUV.IS How things stand on Monday night 13th This update from Monday night --"Residents of the whole town were allowed to return home briefly to Grindavík for essentials" (Previous: "Letting residents back in will be considered in the morning. The residents who went to their houses today will not be allowed to go back.") This common sense approach of hazard and safety seems good to see. Living alongside this risk they must have good knowledge and experience, yet empathy for the residents and community.

Armagh and Isle of Man https://www.gov.im/weather/heavy-rain-severe-gales-coastal-overtopping/ Warning type Heavy rain/ severe gales/ coastal overtopping "a deep area of low pressure (Storm Debi) will bring a period of severe gale or storm force southwest or westerly winds tomorrow morning, strongest between about 08:00 and midday. Gusts are likely of 60-70 mph, with a risk of 70-80 mph. This aspect of the forecast remains a little uncertain, but disruption to travel is likely and if strengths materialise nearer 80 mph then some damage will occur. 12. I've just been to the EDF Torness nuclear power station annual chat. It was interesting, it's an update looking back and forward by local station chief. He spoke about Babet, and the seaweed issues. They do protect their seawater inflow from seaweed and seals but in certain directions of swell and wind, they can get loads of seaweed coming up against the inflow. the wild seas rip the seaweed off the sea floor in the Forth. The easterly of Babet was problematic, a northerly is worse for them. They have to remove it all in baskets and hose it off the drum screens. They also reduced the water inflow and overall production whilst the storm was raging, so that the seaweed clearing could keep up. This kind of storm happens every few years and rips the seaweed off the sea floor in the Forth, dependent on Wind strength, wind speed and wave height so they can predict that it will happen.

Yellow = be advised Amber = Be prepared, red take action This was seemingly jettisoned by MO, with the all warnings are of Severe weather- but you need to understand the nuance of the matrix (which is hidden away) to read each colour, per event A look back and a glance at what's next.
