  1. Insane levels of snow. I remember seeing the pictures and I couldn't believe it. Drifts of 3-4 foot in places!
  2. I'll bloody give you a white out in a minute, Shez!! *shakes fist* in all seriousness, i'm happy for you and the other people that have been under a streamer. Shame Northampton wasn't so lucky, but it's notoriously crap for snow here, so I wasn't expecting much.
  3. Didn't Derby and Nottingham get plastered by an Easterly in 2009 or 2010? A mate of mine lives in Derbyshire and he got around 40cm from that Easterly cold spell!
  4. You've been seriously unlucky today. I thought I'd been unlucky to be 20 miles too far south of that streamer and 10 miles too far North from that PPN over Bedfordshire this afternoon, but being 5 miles North of a place with a couple of inches of snow, when you have a dusting, is super annoying.
  5. Well you know what women say about us blokes don't ya... That we like to exaggerate when it comes to inches.
  6. That's mad, haha. Shows you how it can go with streamers. If you travel 20 miles South to Northampton, it's dry and no snow on the ground, apart from on the grass.
  7. Where are you? You must be in that streamer to the South East of Leiceater. One of the lucky ones. My Mum lives in LE3 (Narboroigh Rd) and she said the snow melted there and she hasn't had any since.
  8. Yes, no more moaning from you!! Everytime you do, i'll remind you of the time you get a covering and we got nothing!! Haha. This was always going to be the case with showers and streamers though. Some places could be under one for hours, while 20 miles down the road is bone dry.
  9. You've done well out of this, Shez. Had a sugar dusting here last night and flurries today that amounted to nothing. The Northampton snow shield is on full power and nothing is getting through streamer 20 miles to the North of me all day, a band of snow, 10 miles to the South of me. Incredible scenes.
  10. So frustrating here. Just on a break at work now and have checked the radar. We've been 10 miles to the North of that band of snow that's been sitting over the home counties for the past 4 hours can't believe it. So close, yet so far.
  11. Had a sugar dusting overnight and now we've been sitting in a gap in the PPN for hours The Northampton snow shield is operating at full power.
  12. Let's see what happens. I don't think that band is supposed to get as far West as the Midlands, but you never know.
  13. Is that the 'predicted' radar? I wouldn't trust that. That mass of snow is heading Westwards but I don't think it will get past Cambridge on its Western flank.
  14. Just had another snow shower here. They're only just about clipping us from the North. When the wind turns to more of a East, North East direction, I think they will start to skirt to the North of us but, i've seen a few showers, so i'm satisfied now @Shezale coventry Have you not seen any showers? Radar suggesys that Cov has had a few
  15. Now, i'm not saying this to be boastful and blow my own trumpet, just as a reminder to 'never say never' until the event is over. A few days ago, quite a few in here were downbeat and talking about how dry this whole event would be for the Midlands areas. Myself and a few others were talking about how showers and streamers can come in off the East coast in an Easterly and that the models weren't great at forecasting this. Now look at the radar! Looks awesome for quite a few people so let that be a lesson, NEVER think it's over, until it's over EDIT: WE HAVE SNOW FLURRIES!!! YESSSS We have caught the edge of a rogue shower, get in
  16. I would take any snow depth forecasts with a pinch of salt. No model truly knows the exact location of where streamers and showers will be It's now down to radar and window watching.
  17. I hope you're right, bud. Even if I don't see a flake, i'm genuinely happy for the rest of you in here It's not often that we see a prolonged, cold Easterly like this one
  18. Nothing here. I think we are in a terrible spot in Northampton, for this. Too far South and central for those showers coming in off The Wash and Lincolnshire area. Looks good for you guys in Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicester and even the West Midlands.
  19. Absolute snooze fest waiting for any PPN to reach here was getting my hopes up after that activity around The Wash earlier now, it's dying out.
  20. That's too soon. At least 2 days after the event!
  21. It depends. At the moment, they haven't quite got the energy to reach the Birmingham area. That could change
  22. There will be absolute scenes in here if that comes off The GFS picked up on this current Easterly at around t180, as well. Let's hope it's right about the next potential one
  23. Now then, that shower activity near The Wash has caught my eye! Could be good for me later, if thar continues heading South Westwards. Just saw @TEITS post on the last thread. How the devil have you been?! I haven't seen you post for years and years. I don't go into the model thread, just stick to this one Wasn't even sure if you came on here anymore. Good to see you about Still playing Gran Turismo?
