  1. Everything was spotless. Continual cleaning throughout the ship. Difficult to find any fault. Mind you not a cheap cruise.
  2. On the last couple of cruises (same cruise line) I went on they had placed bins by the toilet door with a note saying use a towel to open door. There was no medical emergency just standard practice.
  3. Are there any figures for those who died but never were diagnosed prior to death?
  4. One can hope but I’m not sure would put money on it sadly.
  5. Not really. All good stuff to add to a perspective.
  6. Funny how the odd words cause a misunderstanding. Suppose at the moment it is the last thing we want.
  7. Good thing. Some might have a natural resistance. Bit like some Ash trees seem to be immune to Ash dieback
  8. Thanks for the very timely intervention.
  9. At what point was the world aware it was confirmed as being so virulent?
  10. So immediately do something when even now we don’t really know the facts? Brilliant! Which crystal ball do you use?
  11. I really wonder on occasions if people actually listen to what is said.
  12. Agreed. Let’s keep amateur dramatics out of it.
  13. There are some drive thru testing places in Uk
  14. This was posted on a community Facebook page I access. Interesting the comments about how long it lives on surfaces, which is far different from what has been posted on here Last evening dining out with friends, one of their uncles, who's graduated with a master's degree and who worked in Shenzhen Hospital (Guangdong Province, China) sent him the following notes on Coronavirus for guidance: 1. If you have a runny nose and sputum, you have a common cold 2. Coronavirus pneumonia is a dry cough with no runny nose. 3. This new virus is not heat-resistant and will be killed by a temperature of just 26/27 degrees. It hates the Sun. 4. If someone sneezes with it, it takes about 10 feet before it drops to the ground and is no longer airborne. 5. If it drops on a metal surface it will live for at least 12 hours - so if you come into contact with any metal surface - wash your hands as soon as you can with a bacterial soap. 6. On fabric it can survive for 6-12 hours. normal laundry detergent will kill it. 7. Drinking warm water is effective for all viruses. Try not to drink liquids with ice. 8. Wash your hands frequently as the virus can only live on your hands for 5-10 minutes, but - a lot can happen during that time - you can rub your eyes, pick your nose unwittingly and so on. 9. You should also gargle as a prevention. A simple solution of salt in warm water will suffice. 10. Can't emphasise enough - drink plenty of water! THE SYMPTOMS 1. It will first infect the throat, so you'll have a sore throat lasting 3/4 days 2. The virus then blends into a nasal fluid that enters the trachea and then the lungs, causing pneumonia. This takes about 5/6 days further. 3. With the pneumonia comes high fever and difficulty in breathing. 4. The nasal congestion is not like the normal kind. You feel like you're drowning. It's imperative you then seek immediate attention. SPREAD THE WORD - PLEASE SHARE.
  15. I don’t disagree but the practicalities of doing so when you are out and about are somewhat limiting. To use a hand sanitiser in these condition is reasonable but many will now find it almost impossible to buy now even if they were inclined to use it. Likewise using a tissue and putting in a bin is difficult. Filling your pockets up with used tissues is no better than using an ordinary handkerchief.
  16. Sorry meant to add I do use essential oils. Mainly Teatree and Lavender and Sandalwood.
  17. Problem with essential oils they cost an arm and a leg for a small bottle. Alcohol costs not much. Depends I suppose what you want to achieve.
  18. Make your own sanitiser Coronavirus: How to make your own hand sanitizer and cleaning wipes APPLE.NEWS Washing your hands frequently and thoroughly is the best way to protect yourself against the novel coronavirus. When you can't access warm water and soap, hand sanitizer is the next best...
  19. Americans can be very scared about doing anything. Thinking back to 9/11. Would not go anywhere afterwards. We even had a cruise cancelled as our American friends would not leave their country.
  20. And what do you do to counteract the problem. Hibernate?
  21. Have hand sanitiser in your car so as soon as you get back in from a trip out you can do your hands before touching the steering wheel, switches etc. Feeling smug as I bought about a gallon of hand sanitiser ages ago. As my doctor said, when we were chatting about the outbreak, do your best to protect yourself but if your God wants you there is not a lot you can do about it.
  22. How about this for misinformation. Mail with a graph headed Corona Virus cases.
