    Radio Key 103 said earlier that there is no more dry, sunny weather expected for at least a month! GFS has come in with a much wetter end to the week than other solutions, the seemingly stubborn upper trough refusing to budge and allowing another low to get caught up in it.

    This mornings 18z looks awful next week. It sure will feel like late October instead of high June with max temps ranging from 13 to 17C. Hints towards the end of the run of HP approaching the SW. But next week only the daylight hours will give the feel of summer.

    Im taking those washout charts with a pinch of salt. Three weeks ago the ECM and GFS were showing deep lows for this week and yet they didn't come off.

    El Nino doesn't have really any affect on our Summertimes only in Winter. And its not always wash out, El Ninos can bring severe heatwaves. If we can get in a locked Easterly pattern in Late July we could be going 2003 style!

    Very cool and unsettled outlook coming up from next week on gfs ensembles, very refreshing and deserved for some but I hope Its not going to turn into something on the 2012 scale considering how ENSO neutral things are. I'm straw clutching at the moment, a long run of hot days in June have always lead to brilliant if not excellent summers and they seem to come every 20 years or so with drought.... 1955, 1976, 1995 , 2017??

    It would be interesting to have seen what the models were suggesting in the first opening days of the 1976 saga? But computer tech wasn't as advanced as today so doubt we'll ever see outlier charts from 1976.

    Six days of 30°C or more will be memorable as far as extremes are concerned. Bear In mind its still Astronomical spring

    Central Manchester is far too hot and humid feels like 32C. Just 5 mins in the chilled section at an air conditioned Tesco then outside it felt like an over heated sauna.

    Mixed bag. But nothing special apart from a sudden heat wonder around the Solstice period. Generally a summer that offers nothing much to remember.

    Well it does look like we're about to endure some punishment weather for stealing some sunshine according to ECM and GFS. only GFS keeps the warmth for longer.
