  1. A mild damp start with light rain sometimes moderate. Temp 15.1C Barometer 1010mb falling Wind SSW F3 Rainfall 7.5mm 24hr period.
  2. As long as scientists publish their methods and data and are happy to work with people querying their findings there won't be a problem.
  3. Well you find that we're not very civilised up here. Electricity is rare and the polar bears are a real problem. You also have to watch out for the Glaciers breaking up as they retreat due to global warming climate change or whatever they call these days. On a serious note Yorks a nice city so worth going there just for that.
  4. Well a much better day than forecast. Just a pity the sun refused to come out and dark skies at times often promised something but didn't deliver. Some showers around lunchtime showed some potential as there was clearly some convection going on. However these moved away and the afternoon was mostly cloudy with the odd spot of rain. A shower of drizzle round tea and a more vigorous shower right now has tipped the Davis rain gauge a few times. Max temp 19.3C according to the Davis. Barometer 1014mb now falling Wind F3 S Rainfall 0.4mm
  5. Warning in effect from 23:00 hours here so will have to wait too see what happens. 20:00 for the South West.
  6. Well if the Country File forecast and the GFS is right we may get away with a fairly decent week tomorrow being the exception. Temps look about perfect low 20's and you can always miss the showers. The hot stuff preserved more the south and South east. Fingers crossed.
  7. Well I could but I didn't record the morning forecast and if I had it would still have been wrong and it was also wrong for the cricket. The forecast for here was wrong accept it and chill out. Pretty well spot on for the South West but Sheffield isn't in the South West.
  8. Shouldn't this thread be in the severe weather section ???
  9. Some convection going on around midday since then nothing really and judging the way the rain has been decaying suggests there's little prospect of anything later on.
  10. Works fine here you did select custom didn't you?
  11. Bit of a whoopsie as far as the forecast is concerned today. A brief shower lunchtime and only the odd spot since. Max temp 19.5C Barometer 1015mb Falling Wind F3 SSW Rainfall trace
  12. A cloudy breezy mild start but dry at the moment Temp 14.8C Barometer 1016mb Rising Wind F3 SW Rainfall Nil
  13. Worst thing about this club you cancel your membership early then watch all the storms glide around you for the rest of the year.
  14. Surviving well old Dorian. It ain't over until the fat lady sings.
  15. Sheffield storm have heartily powered up. I wonder if last nights thundery shower would have lasted longer if I hadn't decided to try and watch it.
  16. Mobile storm for Android. I use to see what's happening on my Boltek when out and about.
  17. All in my Garden suddenly appeared this week.
  18. A dry pleasant summers day with perfect temps and sunny spells. Dry so far. Max temp so far 22.8C Barometer 1013mb rising Wind F2 Rainfall 3.8mm
  19. Went to bed. Lightning over the south west transferred quickly to the South East, East Sheffield surviving the shield for about ten minutes before being shredded into submission. The demise was quite surprising as there was a lot of lightning at first then it was like flicking a switch. Not sure it can be classed as a storm perhaps a decaying storm or just a Thundery shower. Only brief bit of rain with te shower/decaying storm more heavier rain later but no lightning. At least I've seen some close lightning well around just within two miles anyway.
  20. A fresher but still mild start to the day with Sunny Spells Temp 14.9C Barometer 1009mb rising Wind f3 Rainfall since midnight 3.8mm
  21. Distant lightning once again. Some good cloud formations around but it's like having a beautiful girlfriend who always closes the door at the end of night.
  22. Beginning to fizzle out now. So only a distant storm here to report.
