  1. Simple starter for 10..how would the world's weather patterns change if the Himalayas did not exist?
  2. i don't remember much about summer 2005 apart from that stonking lovely June..so im guessing July and August were much of a muchness??...maybe 1980 could be on the cards?...cool and dry just a thought
  3. yep July 83 would do very nicely very similar to June 2005 hot but not too humid... for me this beats July 2006 easily and just edges out July 1995. July 1983 is the best July in my life time.
  4. Disagree both 2104 and 15 were decent where I am..seen far worse in the past
  5. That's where I live though so for me it was the perfect summer..i would be quite happy for a repeat in 2016...however I expect it to be slightly worse this year to last but not hugely different,..and when I say worse I mean wetter it could be warmer or cooler but fear it will be wetter than 2015.
  6. Summer 2015 was near perfect in London and the SE esp Mid Jun-Mid Aug...dry and reasonably warm never overly hot and a distinct lack of humidity sealed the deal.
  7. its not unusual in strong basin El nino years for December to be by far the mildest month of the winter..its almost a given I would say
  8. Really ?...this winter was odds on going to be mild and wet..i think somewhere back in June 2015 I had already written off this winter for cold
  9. better than cold rain and wind surely anyway could be nice and toastie where I am
  10. why is this still the winter moans and ramps when it is spring ?..should it not be spring moans and ramps?
  11. Not sure a great success..I don't think it was a particularly difficult winter season to call...most of the professional organisations got it pretty much right from what I can remember.
  12. you mean first snow of spring ..winter finished on Monday lol
  13. I always thought it was the other way round..bigger temp difference between poles and the tropics in winter therefore more volatile the atmosphere in winter..summer is less difference less active weather more likely longer periods of one weather type during the summer than winter.
  14. now got to the time where it is now light when I get up to go work and will be now for the next 6 months or so
  15. we got exactly the winter I expected...mild and wet for most (although relatively dry where I am)..with a strong basin wide el-nino it was never going to deliver anything different.
  16. it has been a very mild and relatively dry winter in my location..saw a bit of sleet fall for about 5 mins in January and only had 2 nights that fell below 0c which must be some kind of record?
  17. Decent cold snowy spell?...I wouldn't even get out of bed for that
  18. 1998 was the strongest Nino and had an indifferent spring... warm March cold April average May and indifferent/cool summer..btw 2011 was very much a la nina there was no elnino that year I think you meant 09/10..im going for a warmer than average 1st half of summer and a cooler more unsettled second half.
  19. blossom on trees since chrimbo...daffs have been and gone here..unless they are going to be messiah like and produce a second coming?
  20. he used to wear a big white roll neck jumper...all similar jumpers when I was at school were called a 'Ted Tuckerman'
  21. lol I had a Ted Tuckerman jumper...remember those?
  22. More to do with it could be cold and wet so at least it is mild..i would prefer if it going to wet and miserable at least it to be mild
  23. yes in Alberta in General I have never seen rain in the winter months even mild winters...im not saying it doesn't happen but its rarer than snow in Cornwall.
