  2. The UK is geographically part of Europe, not a separate entity, there is no us and them in that sense. Not good for cold weather fans in Western France or the iberian peninsula either according to the UKMO.
  3. Remember the big picture apart from the UK though, no guarantee of an immediate direct hit to team GB. The very end of the 00z GFS shows intense cold spilling into Europe. And that happens to be the touted mid January time frame.
  4. Well my comment is that last night it was 'off on one' with regards to the depth of cold into Europe. Unless this morning is an outlier. For comparison.
  5. Can we have some sort of function where your posts get read out in Brian Blessed's voice?
  6. As much as I like seeing cold for my location this ECM run just seems a little implausible to me. Odd looking evolution over Central and Eastern Europe, especially compared to its previous run.
  7. I like the renewed push of cold from the weakening vortex at my location at day 10 on this run.
  8. It isn't an interpretation. It's a fact. Winter is defined in different ways. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Winter#Astronomical_and_other_calendar-based_reckoning
  9. So has snowmageddon hit the UK yet? But seriously the UKMO 144h imports some lovely cold air into a wide swathe of Europe. That cold pool extends from the east of England to siberia.
  10. Good man. Hope the weather gives you some more snaw to go with it soon. European cold now looking very likely, I'll set up a few industrial fans to try push it west for you.
  11. The issue is getting the cold from Warsaw to Walsall or Moscow to Manchester...
  12. This would do me nicely. Thanks for the Xmas eye candy ECM. Pity though its been so inconsistent lately so absolutely for fun at the moment.
  13. A little update from your Warsaw correspondent. Happy Xmas everyone. I hear the UK has fog warnings, so travel with care all. Meanwhile, this is this evening's forecast for my location. After a pretty awful 10 years for festive weather in Central Europe we've got a nice old fashioned Xmas.
  14. Same for all of us in Central Europe for Xmas by the look of it This is the met office forecast for Warsaw for 23rd 24th and 25th. Its actually going to feel like Christmas. I think January might be good too.
  15. It can be all too easy to only focus on IMBY model output. Here are the 00z ensembles for my location. As you can see, tightly clustered until 27 December and then divergence thereafter with both the Op and the Control at the mildest end of the suite. So the High Pressure over and near the UK has potential to set up rather differently with different conditions on the ground in Europe, as I've illustrated with the postage stamps for 240h too.
  16. Yes we had another good dumping last night too!
