  1. Chalk and cheese comparing with last night! As they say if it's too good to be true it probably is....
  2. Gem also supports the uk high. The Easterly is all but gone now by some of the models
  3. Back to a UK high!! Significant changes overnight by ukmo and now ecm
  4. The control is what's important, almost a carbon of ECM. Bitterly cold with snow showers in the South
  5. The control is much colder in the reliable (156 hrs). It's very close to ECM here.... This is what we should be watching not la la land on the operational
  6. No it doesn't move North at all in the end. Irrelevant anyway what's important is the upgrade early on...
  7. Look East though, is that blob of super cold marching West!!
  8. Nope, if anything it sinks over UK. Not too bothered, the improvement is showing at 144hrs which is where we want it. Tomorrow looks like the main course as to where next weekend will go...
  9. The best prediction of the lot really is that we'll all be awake at 4am Original post: https://community.netweather.tv/topic/99706-model-output-discussion-into-2024/?do=findComment&comment=4990978
  10. The best prediction of the lot really is that we'll all be awake at 4am
  11. I actually can't remember the last cold spell in January!! 2009 was Christmas week and 2010 was late November going by memory.... are we going right back to the 80s for sustained cold in Jan
  12. Remember guys, all great cold spells pop up suddenly. Don't worry about FI, the upgrades are where we need them at 144hrs... If this is there in the morning, the UK Met deserve massive credit for their predictions!
  13. Looks like Storm Emma back in 2018. Proof that it can happen!! Of course that was 28th Feb, if it happened in early January....wow!!
  14. Good Lord, that's a better of a chart!! Bitterly, shut down UK/Ireland type cold is what that is!!!
  15. Excellent control run, quite similar to the Icon. Deep cold knocking on the door!!
  16. Has it, I thought it was quite the borefest!! Though I see what you mean as the charts were changing every day. A uk high looks safe bet now, equally though it does look keen to move off soon after...
  17. Worth noting the gfs is feeding quite cold air in to the South of the high. Its quite a bit colder than the 06z run!! Frosty nights for sure down South
  18. Back to UK high for ukmo. Certainly not as good as this morning
  19. Yes great start from the Icon. Deep cold already pushing in by Sunday night!! The Meto must be confident, they are very bullish about a cold spell
  20. They are indeed some very good charts in the above. It's kind of what we need though to get a proper cold spell...
  21. A UK high is looking a certainty this morning. The ukmo is rather isolated in showing the high further North as it was last night. At least its looking cold and frosty at times which should lower ground temps. Below is ecm at 240hrs, identical to GEM. Where it goes afterwards it pure speculation.. The GEM, high centred over UK with some ridging northwards...
  22. Pretty Dire gfs tonight! Actually worse than the 12z Best of luck finding something positive to say about this.
  23. In fairness though we spare our bad moods for Christmas and New years All jokes aside we are in a good place and I would take Meto musings over all the models put together!!
