  1. Second half of spring. Don't really get proper warmth until then but can still get significant cold until then.
  2. @Metwatch Well last year June and September were warmer than July and August. Very unusual.
  3. When 40.3°C was reached, the highest 850hpa temperatures actually occurred overnight. We could have reached about 43°C with different timing.
  4. Far easier to recall "Storm X" than "The Atlantic low pressure system of date xx/xx/xxxx".
  5. It's always easier to dismiss something as useless than it is to look into and understand it.
  6. Didn't notice the storm much. No complaints. I hate that sort of weather.
  7. Yep. Wonder if certain people in the model thread will finally realise that.
  8. Exposed to most wind directions and particularly the Cheshire Gap. Central so often in a good spot for fronts coming in from any direction. Decent elevation; Some spots are over 200m asl. Usually do less well in very cold easterlies, however, due to shelter from the Peak District and Staffordshire Moorlands although my spot in the far south east of Stoke is less settled as it kind of pokes out.
  9. Seems to. Certainly in the 7 years I’ve been here. Averages historically more snow days per winter than anywhere else in England outside of the really hilly areas like the Peak District, Lake District and Pennines.
  10. Seen more snow than most of England this winter. Stoke striking it lucky again. Would be pretty cheesed off if I lived elsewhere.
  11. That makes it 5 days of snow so far this winter. Everything covered again, although we still already had last night’s patchy dusting.
