  1. Looks awesome from here so must be amazing at the beach! Its getting brighter here with frequent flashes, I've been told off for considering the beach Edit: thunder now too
  2. I can see the same from here, looks like South West so probably the developing cells towards arran. Could be some high level stuff from the main band I guess tho! Seething should be with @Mr Frost soon I reckon.
  3. Yep I'm keeping an eye on that too, fits in with the timings of something arriving in the early hours.
  4. Large hail reported from the storms over the western Isles! Convective Weather M.FACEBOOK.COM Convective Weather. 7,907 likes · 620 talking about this. Providing detailed thunderstorm forecasts for the British Isles for the next 5...
  5. A heavy shower has formed over Glasgow, looks like its from the base that was building as it passed over here... Pic is another tower heading towards Glasgow.
  6. Some pretty dark bases overhead and this is towering up just to my west....
  7. 31c here now...the Glasgow temperature will be reported much lower as Glasgow AP is a bit cooler. At least somewhere official has reached 30c
  8. Cloud building across the south-west now as can be seen on the satellite loop so the temps probably won't get much higher. You can see the storms to the North-West too! 9. Yep, it's up to 29.8c now on that traffic scotland station, although not official it'll still be a decent weather station I would imagine. It's also up to 29.4c on the M77 near Newton Mearns (my closest station) and rising faster since the breeze has died down.
  10. Some showers breaking out soon maybe? Lots of lightning going to waste out at sea currently!
  11. 29.5c on the A77 at Ayr according to traffic Scotland, surely Prestwick is heading for 30/31c!
  12. Quite pleasent sitting outside working here, 26/27c but with a nice breeze. I've been watching the cumulus starting to become more widespread and grow a little higher, let's hope that's a good sign for later.... Edit: it's 28c, need to get a new weather station!
  13. Prestwick up to 27c already, decent chance of making it to 30c!
  14. A couple of the Traffic Scotland weather stations already close to 25c across the south-west at 10:30! It's a bit cooler further north so far but the heat will build quickly. Traffic Scotland > Traffic Info Map TRAFFICSCOTLAND.ORG
  15. Nice, I'm not setting my alarm for a storm chance here, there would be no chance of it happening then I know a spot down at Troon that would be awesome for photos if that came off with lightning probably visible towards Arran.
  16. Latest meto Strathclyde text forecast has a max temperature of 30c for tomorrow! Convective weather have also expanded the storm risk for tonight. Albeit its a low chance. Convective Weather CONVECTIVEWEATHER.CO.UK Forecasting thunderstorms and severe convective weather across the British Isles and Ireland for up to the next 5 days. It feels like it's going to be warm today, the sun is out already
  17. The rain has a funny shape towards cumbernauld.....
  18. Starting to intensify a bit now with a few stronger cells popping up. Most are East of the M74 or North of the central belt so far..
  19. Showers starting to form now with some dark bases to my south. I'm heading to Ayrshire soon so you can guarantee what will happen with the storms....
  20. Not my photo... There's a video on the page too, it's not that big.
  21. Yeah they're in killie but no photos, seems to have formed quickly so it'll just be photos of rain if I get them now! They are reporting loud thunder
  22. They're getting closer but have lost intensity and no more lightning. Hoping they reinvigorate but I'm not hopeful. Another band moving into the far south which will no doubt give the far south some more storms soon.
  23. Bit of blue sky now so I can see the massive anvils from the storms over Ayrshire, if they continue to move North they should just get here before Christmas!
  24. 100mm/hr+ rain rates over quite a large area, suspect that will be hail with flooding likely! Kilmarnock to Galston look like getting hit next - that will be A77 flooding again, unless it dies off - I'm tempted to take a drive down but as rossco mentioned, visibility is poor.
  25. Interesting storm that, looks like it keeps decaying on the western edge and then re-building northwards. There aren't that many lightning strikes on the detectors but radar returns look strong!
