  1. He can count whatever consecutive days he likes not going to make any comparison with actual figures but surely if someone wants to calculate a temp over any 7 day period they're free to do so
  2. Those pics are either guesswork, low res or include frost theres been no depth of snow here at all at the moment there are maybe a couple of isolated little patches here and there but nothing on the north norfolk coast yet that map shows otherwise, sorry not believing much what that has to show
  3. I think it's going to go down as a special winter I can remember the last time I enjoyed snow that covered the ground non-stop for 2 weeks I was 13 so a long time ago, not talking about the entire UK just where I lived at the time, sure we had snowy winters but 2 weeks of good solid cover, no. We've had lakes frozen solid round here for a month, Holt country park was frozen up so thick you could walk across it (I did verrrrry carefully) even after the snow was long gone it was still frozen solid truly amazing. The best part is it's the first "real" winter my little boy will remember (3) his brother is still too young to remember this one probably (18 months) so here's to more like this, maybe it's a trend in our winters, only a 8 months to go to find out
  4. snowing lightly here now but we had a very heavy ground frost last night so whatever falls is settling. Very Very light at the moment not much more than a few flakes blowing around but we'll see what happens. Keeping fingers crossed for later that it doesn't snow too much heading from Norfolk over Spalding way to pick my mum up then Peterborough to the hospital so don't want to get stuck anywhere...
  5. Bah stopped now, cloudy but brighter than it was with little more than a covering, oh well it was pretty to watch
  6. It's been snowing here for awhile now and contrary to my thoughts it is now starting to settle, quite amazing really when places like Gt Yarmouth not a million miles away have had rain instead....
  7. Snowing really heavily here large flakes, ground soaked and not expecting it to settle sadly but nice to see
  8. It's been chucking it down for ages at the moment, nothing on the floor yet, think it was just too warm and too wet from all the rain, however it is now starting to stick on the roof of the garages so fingers crossed it will settle. TEITS do you think up here on the coast we'll still be getting snow as that low moves up to Norwich? I'm a bit ambivalent on this I want the snow on one hand but on the other my dad has just had major surgery and is not doing well so need to be able to get out and support my mum and siblings so.....

  16. I saw this article today and think it may help The Met Office with their accuracy http://www.newsbiscuit.com/2010/01/20/met-office-to-introduce-retrospective-weather-forecasts/
  17. and so the roller coaster starts again
  18. WOW amazing stuff we've got a good dusting now from that last shower which was very intense, i've got the outside lights on to watch, snowing very heavily again now good stuff!! That cold front doesn't even reach us till later on I think we could be on the verge of something awesome tonight! Oh was watching the snow across the Cley marshes earlier and it was fantastic to see the snow blowing so hard across you could see it coming down in waves
  19. Just started snowing very heavily, really blowing around with HUGE flakes, everywhere wet so not settling yet but netweather forecast is snow all day here according to the mail I just got lol
  20. Look TEITS obviously thinks it works for him - Great Others think otherwise - Great Can we leave it alone this is supposed to be about the weather and discussion thereof and I am getting thoroughly sick and tired of people sniping about their own "techniques" or this is going to turn into the old BBC weather forums and I stopped going there for that very reason
  21. It's been snowing lightly now for TWO hours everywhere is very very slowly turning white and it's just suddenly gotten heavier too totally unexpected and caught a few out I expect
