  1. you clearly dont work outside.... warm rain is just that... warm! , cold rain makes you even colder, its not like working in frost. i talk from vast experience here lol
  2. .... yes there is, when its sourced from a cold direction. nothing worse then cold wet, i prefer snow to that.
  3. well im a bit peeved that yet again this summer/autumn high pressure fails to establish and produce a lengthy, nationwide, settled spell. of course IF this pattern continues, it means no lengthy cold this winter, but that doesnt rule out a 36/60 hour blast.
  4. ... i ought to add.... i use my leaf blower to clear the grass of dew on mornings like this . a giant hair drier, lol.
  5. actually, im off with a sprained ankle... but it cant be, i have to cut wet grass, not ideal but my machinery is top notch. booked up every day - no leeway.. rounds, schedules..cant afford either not to work - well actually now im a pensioner i can now lol
  6. dreadful morning.... cold and drenched.. ok it will 'turn out nice again', but for now its absolutely dreadful.
  7. ........... or june, july, august for a crackin heatwave
  8. chilly soggy mornings... no thanks... but the air quality is good, and in the sun its pleasant, not had a shower yet either..
  9. then i dont get what either of you are going on about. you both have a pov that, without supportative stats, doesnt carry much weight - you think one thing, someone else thinks another, nil nil draw.
  10. have (either of) you got any actual stats?... or is all this bickering going off memory without any stats to support it?...
  11. lol... ok fair point, i missed his location, thought it was a bit odd... my bad!. but in all fairness it has been very much below parr for most of us away from the ever favoured southeast.
  12. thats abit unfair john, chosing one of the warmest spots in the country to suggest the rest of the country is similar. its hardly been summerlike weather since mid july for most of the country has it!
  13. support is growing for a more settled spell in about a weeks time, although starting decidedly chilly, will we import some warm uppers some models are still suggesting?
  14. oh I'm not happy, in fact I'm quite sad! 5 hours of daylight red alert, come nightfall it drops off grrrr
  15. tbh, if i cant see it with the naked eye, ive not seen it... cameras are cheating!
  16. dont get me wrong here, im not saying there will be some heat, just that imho its too early to write it off. tbh im not a fan of late heat, its usually very humid too, id be happy with just 'normal' from hereon in.
  17. just what we need before things warm up, thus producing a real 'indian summer'
  18. daily temperature records indicate that 25c or above has been reached every day until october 13th, with a few odd ones later. with high pressure nudging in from our west, and some warm uppers currently being predicted on both the ecm and gfs, theres every chance in the next 5 weeks of getting some 'heat'.
  19. why?.... a true indian summer is a warm spell after the first frost. i reckon a frost could be on the cards next week as its set to get very chilly especially overnight. and theres time yet for another warm / above average spell. if anything, we need this chilly spell if we are going to get a real indian summer.
  20. as i recall, there was nothing noteable about '73, although there was an early frosty spell in november.
  21. if you are referring to me, its part of my crusade to get the 'official' date for the seasons changed to the meteorological one. its my ocd kicking in, its clearly not summer like not only in the weather - but in nature. as for other topics... im not the one who spent all summer moaning about summer weather - who is winding up whom?
  22. well if sunshine and heat is all you need for 'summer', then fair play.... but as ive said many times before, summer is more then just sunshine and heat.
