  1. Discovered Augustiner while pitched up in Munich before Aberdeen FC took on Bayern. Many litres of beer helped numb the pain of defeat. The trip itself was a disaster, our flight to Munich was delayed due to fog in Germany. The airline offered us seats to Frankfurt which we grabbed. Unfortunately nobody in my group had a clue how far Munich was from Frankfurt. Af ew hours later and 800 euros lighter, we arrived in Munich. The taxi driver was doing 140mph while my party demolished a carry out....surreal.
  2. Mixed bag weather wise on the hills this afternoon. Ideal temperatures for walking although the heavy rain at the summits was a slight pain. Walked for three hours in total and didnt see another person. Back into self isolation mode, woodburner on and an ice cold Augustiner helles in hand.
  3. A dry bright and sunny start to the day, so much better than the gloomy cloudy days of late. Feeling reasonably warm in the sun despite the 2C temperature. The BBC has an excellent guide on what we still don't know about coronavirus, definitely worth a read as the symptoms may not be confined to a fever, persistent cough and muscle pain.
  4. Up these parts we could definitely use some rain, the fields are like dust bowls and my trees could certainly use a drink. With what's going on, sustained heavy rain would be useful in keeping the herd indoors.
  5. Wintry showers for NE Scotland tomorrow - BBC news. Anything but these depressing cloudy days.
  6. Its frustrating to read our brave NHS giys and girls dont have the PPE they need to carry out their work as safely as possible. I really hope this issue is sorted out quickly. Found this article suggesting the UK lockdown is 10 days to late. 7. According to ICL the virus will peak in the UK in around 14 days. Today there are reports that some hospitals are already at capacity with IC beds. Beginning to think the UK lockdown should have happened sooner and been more robust.
  8. Met office outlook: Monday 30 Mar - Wednesday 8 Apr Towards the end of March it will be largely dry, however, eastern areas will likely see showers of hail and snow at times, which will accumulate on higher ground and could give some snow and ice to lower levels during the night. A northeasterly wind will keep it cold. High pressure conditions should dominate through the beginning of April, bringing plenty of dry, fine weather with bright or sunny spells across the UK, particularly in West. Winds will be predominantly light, with any breezier weather bringing a significant wind chill, indeed it looks likely to remain colder than average with further chance of snow. Unsettled conditions will tend to gradually become more established from the northwest later, bringing spells of wind and rain.
  9. Hopefully he spills the beans. Weather wise, a dull cold day. Winter wheels are being swapped for the summers 03-04-20. Get your snow shovels ready.
  10. Excellent. Local co-op this morning 7am. No milk, no loo rolls, not much veg, no blueberries (devastated). I did manage to get Chicken....sort off. Chicken Cojouns.....they look a bit ropey and I'm considering leaving them out for the farm cats.
  11. Must confess, I started salivating when I read this post. Chickens and loo roll are the new gold/gods. Weather wise, its lovely. Sat outside, well wrapped up, cup of coffe in hand. Sunny with temperature around 5C. Not a soul going about, a few cars and a cyclist is all I've seen in the last couple of hours. Hopefully it stays that way!
  12. For far to many, the message isn't getting through: Completely retarded. 16. Sounds like you've definitely got the better deal. Farmer enroute with the next load of firewood - cloudy, snowing and cold. Not the best day to be messing around with logs. Looking forward to seeing pictures of the hound
  17. Early start this morning - lots to do. It' snowed during the night leaving a slight dusting. Temperatures is currently -4C with the last few mornings around -5C. The first month of Spring has generally been on the cold side with bright sunny days. Snows falling, on the hills, a few miles to the south of the house.
  18. My entire office will start working from home as of tomorrow. People were literally running out the door this afternoon with laptops, PCs and monitors. Hard to be anything but pessimistic knowing what we're facing. Stay healthy all!
  19. Just a little FYI. The World Health Organisation are not convinced C19 is a seasonal virus.
