  1. Cairngorm mountain reporting massive snowdrifts in places.
  2. Three of the muppets rescued from Ben Nevis today were wearing trainers. Climbers in trainers rescued in Ben Nevis blizzard WWW.BBC.CO.UK Lochaber Mountain Rescue Team finds the group of four on the mountain with wind chill about -20C.
  3. Pretty sure these idiots have a death wish. You'd have to be pretty retarded to climb Ben Nevis given the weather forecast. Theres 22 volunteers out risking their lives for these clowns.
  4. Sleet/snow is forecast for here in a couple of hours. I did begin to wonder when I saw the snow ploughs on the prowl this afternoon. Early commute tomorrow to avoid the simpletons that cant drive in snow.
  5. Noticed a few cars, covered in snow, heading into Aberdeen on the way home from work. Gritters are spreading and have the snow blades fitted. Once into the vale of Alford, you can see the snow clouds to the south and west. Another 30 miles east and it would be snowing here. 1.5C.

  12. Aviemore and Braemar will do well over the next couple of days. Looks like a brief, but welcome, cold snap.

  14. Blizzards over higher ground Scotland tomorrow. Met office see significant accumulations, at elevation, for north ana norh west Scotland.

  16. Wind is really getting into its stride now. Power is back on for the time being. Peak winds due around 4pm here before gradually easing. Wild!

  18. Latest Met update going for 57mph gusts around 4pm. Light snow forecast for tomorrows commute. Snow and ice warnings in force for most of Scotland Wednesday. An interesting week of weather ahead.
  19. This mornings gloomy start has given way to sunny intervals and 9C. Wind has picked up but nowhere near yesterday's gusts. Calm before the storm?

  22. Wind has increased steadily since morning. Currently sunny with temperature around 5C. Peak winds due in a few hours but nothing serious.
  23. The snow lasted for about 15 minutes here and has all but melted. A short respite from the worst winter I can recall since moving here in 2004. Pish!
