  1. Day 10 Yes, last time I could see the snow falling on the tops out east of Macc. Settling snow from around 210m, hills became invisible whilst I watched sleet
  2. Morning. 7.4°C, overcast it's not raining. Interesting still for tomorrow, looks like we will all be radar watching and looking out the window, it's part of the fun. Factored in extra journey time for essential travel tomorrow just in case.
  3. Coming home from Manchester just now and it's absolutely miserable, heavy rain. The bright spells we get are just not long enough.
  4. Morning. Candy floss coloured sky earlier here, min of -1.6°C last night. Frost on roofs but not on the bird table, their water had a layer of ice on. Precipitous echoes on the radar but it's still dry, dull and grey here.
  5. Had Worse yes, seen loads of sunshine these passed few days, real mood lifter. Saw 3 new born tiny lambs today, near Mottram Hall Hotel, Prestbury. They put a big smile on my chops .
  6. 7.5 °c, and as already said, it feels colder. Just encountering a rain shower at Gatley, it started spitting in Withington, Manchester. Some great cloud scapes today.
  7. Was a chilly night, another frosty start. Beautiful sunny morning, can see low cloud/fog on the very tops, there won't be much of a view for early morning walkers unfortunately. Another get out and enjoy day
  8. This heron seemed really tame and was unaffected by all the walkers, watched it catch and swallow a second frog whole, it must have some young to feed. I could have sat and watched it all day. Didn't realise how big herons are up close, scared me, glad I don't look like a frog.
  9. Yes, that's the one, from Macc to Marple taking in towns and villages along the way. 11 miles in total. I did a small section through Poynton out towards Lyme Park, such a cracking day for a walk.
  10. What a beautiful day it's been. Had a walk along a disused railway line called the Middlewood way, saw a heron with a frog in its beak. Had tea at the Flying Horse next to the airport and was treated to a stunning sunset. Currently 4.3°C, its going to be a chilly night.
  11. Lovely crisp, chilly morning. 0°C and sparkly frosty. Birds water frozen over. Going to be a clear beautiful sunrise.
  12. Dark skies and hailstones currently at the back of house, blue sky and convective clouds at the front.
  13. Morning all. A bit chilly, 2.7°C and alot of cloud about. Macc escaped any hail or rain last night, in fact it was nice to see the bright moon and some stars for a change. Ground is still wet though.
  14. tricol One of my fave places. If you are in there at dusk, keep your eyes peeled for the Red Deer, they are active late in the day feeding.
  15. Ooh tis gusty and wet, didn't need to open the curtains first thing, could hear the rain hitting the window. Yes, some interesting weather to watch tomorrow. Looks quite squally on the front of that system in the early hours/ waking hours, dependent on its arrival. GFS has snow for the tops in its wake. Will probably be sleety cold rain here 150m asl.
  16. Purely personal preference but my ideal summer temp is low to mid 20's, pleasantly warm enough without taking all my energy. Nights are cooler for sleeping. I can tolerate these extreme summer temps just as long as they are brief. I love it that we are not all the same and some of you may prefer hot temps.
  17. Again the odd burst of sunshine and brightness is short lived. Had all the windows wide open earlier, now need light on in the house and the radar isn’t floating my boat, will need a boat soon, nowhere is getting the chance to dry out.
  18. Morning all. Grey again but dry. There's quite a breeze and nudging 10°C. So many surrounding fields are water logged currently, there's continuous run off into roads. My sister tells me the bottom of her garden has been under water for a while. A lovely carpet of crocus in the local park, we need some colour, they made me smile.
  19. Iceaxecrampon Some cracking photos there thanks for sharing. You got to see some blue sky in the distance
  20. Heavy showers on and off all day today, constant mist over the tops. Friend took me for coffee at the Counting House (Wetherspoons) in Congleton, nice little run out, but the rain didn't let up. I was hoping to spot my first lamb, anyone seen any lambs yet? Max of 11.4°C.
  21. Max of 15.1°C before the rain set in. Felt really spring-like for a few short hours, but long enough for my miniature daffodils to open.
