Alas, due to my absurd difficulties I've snapped three images from my video until I can get into line. First two are CGs (although I cannot fathom why the second pic, which was so close, only seems to have captured the bottom half of the bolt) while the third is in the midst of what I felt was a downburst. -

I wouldn't say anything close to golf ball or supercell style by any means. I would say somewhere around 5p maybe a few up to 10p max. It only hailed during the blast of winds/torrential rain so I heard a lot more than I saw (and I heard some very loud donks). -

So annoying, got the storm earlier on film, tried to upload it (for the first time) to YouTube (took forever) and then learned it is 30 seconds too long Will have to try later -

What direction was the microburst @Freezeflake? We had something here remarkably like one, sudden strong winds and intense rain and hail. Lasted about 30 seconds. I recorded the storm, just sitting down to see what it has come out like -

Still raining but clearing through now thunder/lightning still ongoing. Gorgeous anvil visible on the back side. Anyone on the receiving end do be prepared for severe thunderstorm conditions. -

OMG. Just had a downburst of some sort. Brief total white out (about 30 seconds), leaves flying around, large hail and frequent CGs. Incredible. Definitely falls under the heading of severe!!! -

Just had three very close CGs in the space of about 5 seconds! Wow Actually getting a bit nervous lol -

Few more stunning CGs but the thunder is very strange - crack then dead silent. -

Fantastic, just heard a very distant but angry peel of thunder @Windblade Let's hope it holds together Going to set up tripod and videocamera just in case. -

Heads up @Windblade - storm has erupted just east of Guildford and on its current track (and if it holds together) will come very close to our location! -

Beautiful convection over C London just now. Alas, working from home today. Note the pileus cap in the second and third photos. They're so close to me but no cigar, unless that detonating line shimmies east. -

Agreed @stainesbloke some big ol' towers rocketing up now. Very dark off to my W/NW - cell just started firing over London. Some towers and darkening skies to my South too @Windblade -

@UKSupercell Sorry mate no idea, other than to access the forum via my phone, click choose files and select from my library. Scratch my earlier post, looks like something could be getting its act together just to my N. ETD (estimated time of detonation), circa 30 mins is my hunch, perhaps sooner. -

Fairly sustained heating happening here over the past few hours. TCu beginning to appear particularly to my N and E. I wouldn't be surprised to see intiation within the next 60 - 90 minutes. -

Sun out here, very warm and humid outside. I can't help but think I am possibly a little too far West and South, but would be delighted to be wrong. -

Cloud amounts already seem to be on the increase here. This will not help too much which insolation which, aside from any trough that develops, could be a key player in assisting with the initiation of storms. I agree with @Supacell (which probably means I've just lost the election, lol), in that NMM is opting for fairly decent CAPE actually (around 1,200 - 1,500 J/Kg) and keeping decent MUCAPE (again, in excess of 1,000 J/Kg) hanging around until around 23:00. While it is unpopular, I consider the NMM to be one of the most reliable at very short range (not to say that it's always accurate, because clearly it is not). -

Did yesterday's text mention a potential supercell? Very interesting! Had better make sure I start work nice and early just in case there are any distractions during the afternoon -

I suspect my area could be a breeding ground tomorrow, with maybe getting the first few cracks here before off towards the NE towards Essex/EA. Often happens unfortunately however I dare say I'd get lynched for suggesting I feel some kind of a grievance with that (I don't I hasten to add) -

DPs of 17C with temps of around 24-25C will probably feel quite oppressive and were any downpours to develop (electrified or not) they could be quite torrential. My feeling is that GFS is probably underdoing the CAPE (perversely). Some of the most exciting storms I have witnessed have been from high DP/modest temperature setups (i.e 24-26C). You don't need lightning every few seconds for an enjoyable storm. Sometimes the 1-2 flashes per minute with booming thunder are just as exciting (maybe even more so) than the quiet thunder/lightning fests of the recent weekend. -

Stunning grab! There is something awe inspiring and thrilling about MCS'. I just hope we get more of them this year. I can't think of two consecutive days of such large, electrified storms. Does anyone know the combined lightning totals for Saturday and Sunday? -

Can't edit my last post, but for those curious about +CGs, see 3:18 and especially 6:24 - note the intensity of the flash and explosive peel like thunder (incidentally setting an alarm off before the thunder even hits)
