  1. Indeed, it wasn’t showing cloudiness this afternoon at all. This morning, yes. A bit like the unexpected rain patches yesterday.
  2. 31mm up to now - so comfortably the wettest day of the year so far!
  3. Today can be described as 'saturation'. 19C with a 18C dewpoint. Been pouring on and off all day so heading for the wettest day of the year so far - after so many weeks without any rain! Felt like the tropics coming out of the air conditioned gym not long ago.
  4. Perhaps a summer 2016 style plume. Sudden switch from wet to hot, with the chance of a reload. 19th July 2016 was a very hot day with clear skies from start to finish here. A hot night like what is shown in the models also followed (still 26C at midnight).
  5. Hazy sun for most of the day, cloudier in the last hour or so with some spots of rain.
  6. Looking a bit sodden for the first day of the harbour festival in Bristol...
  7. Pretty snowy. Some places had an early taste in late November. Then there were several events in December, including one just after Christmas (if only it had been a few days earlier). Snow in January was concentrated further north but there was a transient snowy spell for some around midmonth. Then of course February speaks for itself. We had a light snowfall here early in February too.
  8. As recently as 2017 going by his description. Although, despite the snowiness of the winter that followed, it wasn't cold per se.
  9. Mostly sunny so far. Cloud not building as readily as yesterday but still blocking the sun occasionally.
  10. Hoorah we have a clear morning. Now all it has to do is stay like that... as if... we were under any area of high pressure!
  11. Became sunny from 2.30 onwards. If only it had been like that between 11.30 and 2.30! Lovely evening now.
  12. So far this year, things that stick out for me are: - snow at the start of Feb - the mild/warm sunny spell in the second half of Feb - the sunny and warm Easter - the terrible start to June, especially the 11th and 12th Yes, there have been a few thunderstorms but that’s all par for the course. No humdingers like 2017 or 2014.
  13. Got bored waiting for sun to come for longer than 60 seconds... What a disappointment this weekend is.
  14. Sunny spells rather than sunny here. Still a bit too much cloud. Warm though at 22C.
  15. Hmm very cloudy this morning. Wasn’t expecting that given high pressure is more over us than the last two days. Hopefully a clearance this afternoon.
  16. I don’t think autumn is ever a season I look forward too (other than for business reasons), but I do enjoy it when it’s here! October and first half of November in particular when the colours are at their best usually.
  17. Must’ve rained at some point last night as I’ve collected 1mm. A pleasant day so far if rather more cloudy than expected.
  18. It was pretty special. Very similar to the ones in the same date that July, but actually a direct hit! Fingers crossed going forward. August and September have the potential to be the best months for storms. Indeed August and May are my most thundery months. Sadly the Atlantic takes over too much by September to benefit from humid unstable air masses.
  19. I know what you mean. Maybe something to do with more moisture in the air and higher SSTs - or that could be rubbish. Having said that, 12th August 2012 gave a pretty dry lightning show here, as did the September 2014 storms on the 18th/19th, before the rain set in.
  20. Not just London. Many are. Since the first week of June we’ve had zilch too.
  21. 23C and sunny here again. Pretty much bang on what I’d expect at this time of year. No complaints from me. My only hope is that we don’t have a plume on the 21st weekend as I’ll be in London. It’s disgusting enough there already let alone with heat and humidity too!
  22. It kind of reminds me of July 2011 but without the rain so far. Nothing special but a lot of usable weather. 2011 of course was more unsettled, kind of like a typical September.
