  1. Snowfall warning issued here for possible 6 inches of snow tomorrow.
  2. Woke up to 4 inches of snow today and still snowing. I did utter a few choice words and yup CM looking like winter is returning *grumble grumble
  3. Woke up to snow today....only about half an inch. Surprised after a week of double digit temps and sunshine
  4. Just looking at the M2 webcam in Kent and it looks like another glorious dawn in Kent. Super jealous of the greenery. Nothing but brown here. I cant wait to see it for myself in 2 weeks. Lets hope the nice weather remains.
  5. Must mean snow is coming then after they said the winter of all winters was coming lol...not sure the heading is big enough though mate lol
  6. Hi Daniel, welcome to the thread. I used to live in Kent (still come back regularly) and have been a member here on netweather for 10 years. Nice to see new faces. What part of London you from. I can see London from the QE2 bridge whenever I cross it, love the sight of canary wharf, especially as the sun sets. I miss fog, never have it here.
  7. Mine is here in the Rockies in my own town - Quarry lake - which has a small beach. Perfect those hot summer days
  8. Indeed and if the temperatures are on the borderline those heavy showers should help with convective cooling to change over to snow. That's all dependent on the marginality of the situation...too warm and it will just be heavy rain. Though warm and northerly are barely in the same sentence. Def interesting.
  9. This is the webcam closest to my house I stay in when I come back to England, at blue bell hill (kent) approx. 600 ft ASL. Usually you can see the road very clearly. A very foggy night.
  10. Stunning weather here this week. Today reached 12oC and deep blue skies. Snow melt is rapid with localised minor flooding on roads.
  11. Hi Abruzzi, Just to clarify the posts that were deleted and referred to as innuendo were posts with sexual nature and suggestive between two members that a mod deleted. Nothing nasty or serious between anyone. I guess the mod just didn't think it was appropriate. That's all. I have been on here all day as off work with a touch of flu and there's definitely been nothing in the nasty nature. It's been quite jovial. Other than that it appears all polite and smashey and nicey as usual. Here's to another sunny day tomorrow. Long may the high pressure continue though the GFS is showing a slight ramp up in the atlantic but that's T188 out.
  12. What's interesting is the March 20 jet stream forecast shows the High has slipped south and westerward and introduced a strong jet stream from the north, allowing some potentially cold air to come in on strong winds, setting up probability of north and east Scotland as direct hits for regular snow showers coming in off the north sea. This chart ties in with the 18Z T850 temp gradient showing the potentially cold air and also the snow risk charts for the same time frame back this up. IF that did happen then happy days for a lot of cold lovers, but its always the big IF.
  13. Have you got a cool wind coming in off the sea? It could be the warmest summer day and I would go to Felixstowe and the wind used to freeze me. Gotta love Suffolk for that. I was going to say you've had your 3 bad lucks but seems you got a lot more than that. Hopefully tomorrow goes better for you. Have a good evening too.
  14. I'm gonna say it wont. There have been years it hasn't reached 30oC...this could be one of them.
  15. Totally agree - I feel like that here. It was a novelty at first but now after 4 months of snow it becomes tedious. That's why I love UK weather and especially in the south east, it can be so varied. I am still going for snow end of March/early April as I said back in January. Some heavy snows have come along at this time in history. I would recommend the weather book series by Bob Ogley, Ian Currie and Mark Davidson detailing Kent, Sussex, Essex, Suffolk on past weather events. They are a great reminder that anything could happen at anytime of year. As I am back in Kent early April I bet it does snow, just to annoy me lol.
  16. I am receiving pictures from family members in Kent and the weather looks amazing. 19oC and sunny. Well needed after all the winter rains. Maybe a first bbq of the year for some? Enjoy :-)
  17. Its ironic they are based next to the largest ocean in the world...oh if only they could tap into that
  18. so really not anything special - so much for the polar vortex for them. Now if records have been going for 108 years it their 54th warmest :-)
  19. Yup all the storms you got in Calgary in December we completely missed. Most snow in one go here - prob about 2-3 inches max other than the early one in November which was about 8-10 inches. Since then pretty much nothing and grass showing all around the house, even in the shady parts no more than a few inches. The difference an hours drive can make. That said we actually had 20 mins of snow last night that has left about 1cm dusting.
  20. I'm actually missing the snow...barely a snowfall to talk about since November and no snow falling here in about 6 weeks. Crazy weather and super dry. Should be good for spring and the worry of floods
  21. Not bad at all - our local mountain in Canada is Sunshine Village near Banff and its been a poor year. Current depth is 415 cm's but of course a lot of this has been man made as temperatures are very cold. Haven't had snow here in about 4 weeks. Unusual.
  22. Wow some posts are like reading war and peace.....cliff notes people My input on the models? Windy mid week. Your welcome :-)
  23. Getting fed up with the cold now - remember me why I live in a place that hurts my face? After such a warm January winter hasdef returned. I think we have hit, or been close to hitting -30oC every night this week and havent got above -20oC. Bring on England in 5 weeks for a nice 'warm' holiday - though I bet it bloody snows when I'm there.
