  1. ECM better than GFS but still not great. The Eastern Canada / Greenland segment of the PV is a massive pain in the backside for us coldies!
  2. Hope so BA because the output post day 10 (and pre 10 day too!) is simply awful!. GEM day 10 not great either! I thought this morning's runs were poor!
  3. Limited amplification on UKMO. http://www.wetterzentrale.de/en/topkarten.php?map=1&model=ukm&var=1&run=12&time=144&lid=OP&h=0&mv=0&tr=24#mapref
  4. The extended eps looks very mobile - positive NAO. Not overly mild but no significant cold signal.
  5. The short to medium term ( <15 days) NWP output remains mainly poor (it's now possible that we will achieve a December CET that is warmer than average). There may be other forces at play, the Strat, the MJO but none of these are manifesting themselves in most of the NWP output. The Met Office forecast for early January is also less bullish with the words "low confidence" now appearing. We need to see some decent NWP output to calm the nerves...
  6. Baby steps but it looks like the eps more amplified days 7-9. Not a done deal yet, but moving in the right direction. The clusters will be interesting...
  7. Is this just conjecture or do you have any evidence? I would doubt your assertions.
  8. Pretty awful NWP output this morning. Knocker and Sidney must be thrilled!! Is there any light at the of the mild tunnel?
  9. ICON 18z has the low slightly further north (at midnight tonight).. 12z 18z
  10. Still snowing in RP - all surfaces getting a covering now (except the road). 0.7C and falling...
  11. Yep - was in Bushey Road, now on Fairway!! Great here isn't it!
  12. Sharpedge - we probably live on the same road!!! Moved a few years ago!
  13. Rain here Slushy deposit of 0.5cm getting smaller by the minute. 1.3C
  14. Really impressive - looks like lots of folk have done much better than expected. Just a slushy deposit here in SW London but more northern parts of London have done pretty well too!
  15. Sadly turning back to rain in Raynes Park - is slightly milder air pushing back north?
  16. Wet snow here in Raynes Park - starting to settle on usual surfaces. Temperature has fallen from 2.9C at 06:00 to 1.1C at 08:00. If only it was 1C colder!
  17. Indeed - the extended eps rather disappointing this evening (strong + NAO signal) and to be honest it has been trending in this direction over the last couple of runs. Let's hope for an improvement tomorrow morning.
  18. Indeed though right out at day 14/15, it looks like a reinforcement of a + PNA is happening, pulling the lower heights in the Atlantic back towards Newfoundland. Way out but something to watch?
  19. The run up to Chrimbo looks very nice on the GFS 12z - Just for fun but still nice to look at it.
  20. Indeed, last night's set was different and I would wager we will see something different on tonight's set. Time will tell as ever!
  21. Yep, heights significantly higher to our north east in the extended range. Let's hope this is the start of a trend...
