  1. Similarties to 2005 with christmas day on the 12z run with HP. Had a frost from this down to -0.8c http://www.wetterzentrale.de/archive/ra/20...00120051225.gif http://91.121.93.17/pics/Rtavn2881.png
  2. Lovely clear crisp evening out there already -1c infact it started freezing at about 3 pm on the ground with water freezing, 1.9c air temp my other read 0c. Had a drizzly shower af sleet this afternoon with a few flakes of snow max 3.8c with a light NW wind.
  3. Thats one thing we did have too much of last night rain half an inch.
  4. Cloudy breezy SW-ly temps have risen to 6.6c no rain as yet and a low of 2c
  5. It`s going to be quite a while before the cloud reaches your part OP another air frost your way possibly here briefly it`s still fairly clear just thin high cloud although temps are higher for this time of day to yesterday 2.4c max of 3.5c Could well be some ice about again when the rain moves in.
  6. Got down to -1.9c a mini inversion we`re in at the moment with less cold upper air coming in wall/wall sun again much more frost,2.5c now and the seasonal spell carries on. wind is starting to come in from the SW.
  7. It could well be the coldest first week of december since 1962 going by those years. Certainly the coldest first week I`m going to record by quite a way 11c lower than 1998 and also lower the 1995. 2.5c on hadley to the fifth and 2 cold days/nights since. Only 2c here upto the 6th. http://www.climate-uk.com/index.html And another cold week to come.
  8. Unbroken sunshine this is turning out to be a rather sunny period for the time of year, max of 4c -1.4c now.
  9. Had 7 air frosts in a row here which equaled november 2005. But the ground frosts have continued down to 0.8c 3.9c with wall to wall sun,air frosts back tonight.
  10. A day of showers/sunshine with more sun to yesterday, showers were all on the light side max of 5.4c
  11. Got down to 1.4c with yet more ice only a thin layer with overnight showers, just a few light rain showers here this morning temps are a touch higher to this time yesterday at 5c
  12. The mild sector was shown to miss Wales earlier in the day and go further south but the later UKMO chart showed it coming right over Wales at about 6am ish so +1 upper air meant rain it was extremely marginal, turned to rain here just before 6.
  13. Been a cold windy day eased off this afternoon felt less chilly lots of frequent showers this morning, showers now too by the sound of it max of 5.1c still ice left in places. 3.5c currently.
  14. Feb 06 wasn`t bad either I`ll definately take that again. Impressive first 3 days mean here is just -1.3c
  15. Yes there`s been some great views of Venus and Jupiter recently not tonight though as it`s cloudy. Coldest day of the winter so far at just 1.7c 0.7c now too,Wales said 2 inches of snow on high ground as it did show rain following except for the highest mountains. So I`ll expect that then.
  16. Seems to be a pattern going on here with the last 3 months with a cold first week. 1998 was cold during the first week especially the 6th which was just as cold as yesterday here min and max. This could well be a colder first week here actually.
  17. Had a heavier snow/soft hail shower early this afternoon which settled very easily on the ice making that white, but only a slight dusting elsewhere, just a couple or 3 light/very snow showers since max of 2.5c in a west wind so it`s a notable cold day from that direction thats for sure,1.3c and clear skies just after surfaces were freezing.
  18. Don`t understand what went wrong last night looking at the 6am radar as far as snowfall was concerned hills to the south going to below halfway down had a good covering 2 inches or more maybe, only a sprinkling here which had frozen, and nothing over the west hills/mountains either. Ice was the big thing on the roads havn`t seen it like that for a number of years a mini version of 1978 freezing rain. Still icey now and very cold at just 1.3c with a couple of very light snow showers, bulk of those have heading south of here all morning and missing here. Got down to -1.3c Wind is west/SW
  19. Exactly the last time I had an ice day in november was in 1993. but i didn`t quite. Other places have seen ice days the last 2 days due to freezing fog.
  20. It`s not the nightime temps that have been that low, but the very low max.
  21. I`m sure there has has as today it`s been the coldest november day here since 1993. As further north looking at xcmap is below freezing shap was showing -6c at 3pm!!!!!!! And also Edinburgh at -3c same time. -5c now gone up 1c http://www.xcweather.co.uk/
  22. For sheer cold East then north then NW which is less cold due to the atlantic influence coming in. For heavy snow showers NW/East or East/NE,East/SE doesn`t bring snow showers as such the north as today shows it`s totally dry. For prolonged snowfall East wins every time then it`s NW.
  23. High cloudcover with temps slowly falling still at -1.5c can make out a few blurry stars though.
  24. I`m going for a cold start then a milder middle then a cold end but still I`ll go for a below average at 4c coldest since 2001.
  25. Currently 0.3c after a max of 1.8c making it the coldest november day of this century  beating all of 2005. So only 1 day in november 19th 1996 was a shade colder with this snow beast/blizzard. http://www.wetterzentrale.de/archive/ra/19...00119961120.gif
