  1. The coolest day I`ll go for then as it looks cloudy with a cool NW wind. http://85.214.49.20/pics/Rtavn3017.png
  2. That true as last may/June and July were the wettest on record then august was mainly dry with the autumn the driest on record what a strange year and even december was dry. although last sept wasn`t so dry here with 1.6 inches.
  3. I`ve recorded wetter septembers but this month is only 6 days young!!!! 1999 was the wettest with 6.1" Nearly had half that already with 2.75" as sept 2000 was the 2nd wettest I`ve recorded which was the wettest since 1981 my rainfall records go back to 1992 had 1.3inches for the first half summer 2000 was quite wet/unsettled. Unless we have a dry 2nd half. Every location differs of course. Yes daily/24 hour rainfall in summer that goes to last june and July here for the highest I`ve recorded 3.1" in june with 2.6" in July with torrental thunderstorms/heavy rain, pity I always say this that I didn`t record weather in the 80`s too young I suppose.
  4. I can`t access the file, but as far as rainfall being rare on a 24 hour event then no it`s not thats frequent, but continues rainfall over the period as last summer being the wettest on record was it not with the severn flooded for the first time in summer July, then this long wet spell for early sept then yes it is a rare event seen the archives charts and theres proof out on the rivers it hasn`t flooded this early before as I`ve seen.
  5. It was a 1 in 100 with last summers floods across the country, as for this in sept is getting on for a 1 in 50 year event for it so being early in autumn the severn starts flooding in november normally. My 90 year old Uncle hasn`t seen a summer like last year before. For spring autumn/winter we can expect it as the ground is soft but not now,it should be hard.
  6. This year does look to be a wetter year to last year which does take some believing after last summer`s deluges. This time Last year 25.4" final total 32.1" Same time this year 26.7"
  7. An extra 18mm last night which makes it wetter than yesterday. River severn has flooded with some corn fields under water for the 2nd year in a row I`ve seen floods at the end of september once or twice not at the beginning and it`s higher than I expected. Sun has come out and temps are higher at 14.9c had some drizzly rain. Wettest september date since 1999 and that won`t be topped. http://www.wetterzentrale.de/archive/ra/19...00119990920.gif
  8. Some heavy intense showery rainfall bands moving north... rain started here again after a dry lull with some mist. http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/radar/
  9. It weakened here just an extra 0.1" making 0.6" the sun even come out at just before 4 for 10/15 minutes and the wind turned SE for awhile taking it upto 14.3c so still cool but it feels milder to yesterday thats for sure. Last autumn was the driest on record and our stream didn`t dry up after last summer not surprising really. Too many houses in this country now so a drought comes so much easier especially in the SE.
  10. Torrential rain showing up in Wales not where there wants it half inch so far here and it`s getting heavier. East/SE wind and 12.6c my average max last sept was 16.3c so a good 4/5c below average unless the sun comes out later which is possible after 4.00pm.
  11. So far this month I`ve already recorded 1.5/6 of my highest ever september rainfall which was in 1999 as 2000 was the 2nd which infact was the wettest since september 1981. So a few charts from that extremely wet month which started warm and dry http://www.wetterzentrale.de/archive/ra/19...00119810909.gif http://www.wetterzentrale.de/archive/ra/19...00119810911.gif http://www.wetterzentrale.de/archive/ra/19...00119810913.gif http://www.wetterzentrale.de/archive/ra/19...00119810918.gif http://www.wetterzentrale.de/archive/ra/19...00119810920.gif http://www.wetterzentrale.de/archive/ra/19...00119810927.gif What is your wettest september year.
  12. You`re gonna love tomorrow. http://85.214.49.20/pics/brack0a.gif Sun came out after taking temps upto 14c exactly ground is sodden in places now. Coolest day since may 28th at 13.8c I sure I saw a couple of flashes of lightning last night one overhead at around 9pm and one way way too the north looked like a pink flash. Did hear 1 small bird singing this morning.
  13. Yes it`s turned out to be one of the worst days of the week here with a cloudy start medium/high cloud then dark cumulus with a prolonged rain/band with 1 torrential shower with 12mm today still raining but light now as the milky sun is making an appearance but it is a cold day so far for early sept at max of just 11.1c and no wind.!!!! 8.7min last night.
  14. 9.3c here and there have been a few evening showers down to 8.5c last night.
  15. That is shocking!!!! had 3 inches here. Trouble is already had 1 inch this month and with ground getting saturated here now so early in sept this is not good when a wet autumn comes floods will happen, must be bad where you are tho.
  16. Friday will be the test. Too wet for wearing a jumper a coat is needed this afternoon has been very autuminal with just 12.1c max since the rain started and windy similar temps this week to early sept 1992. Heavy rain coming in now. http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/radar/
  17. It`s the strong wind making it feel cooler today coolest day of the summer was 14.6c in June here. This is the day that it`ll feel colder with a gale force east wind and heavy rain going by this anyway. http://85.214.49.20/pics/brack1a.gif Rain has arrived.
  18. After a sunny morning with the odd shower max was 14.7c it`ll go lower now as thickening cloud has come in temp is just 12.9c and it`s been windy with quite alot of leaves coming off an ash tree.
  19. I thought that was interesting I`ve wondered that I`ll always go by the 71-00 average as I wasn`t about in the 60s well just 1month and abit so anyone older would go by the 61-90 average I`d say,and anyone under 18 would go by the 91-2020 average
  20. Cooler today and sunny all morning max of 15c then heavy shower bands it dropped to 11.4c in one shower.
  21. Looks like it`s been the dullest august for 80 years. Anyway as theres been a mainly west/SW wind until the last 2 days of light S-lys. No east wind this month but did have 3 days of west /or NW-ly different to august 2006 when that was a very N-ly/NW month and that came out as 16.1 CET to this month 16.2 and that month was more interesting but that`s not saying much about this august very gloomy and damp sums it up. Lowest min 7.8c Max was actually 22.2c August 2006 Lowest Min 12.2c Max 25.7c on the 6th.
  22. This is the 2nd summer that I`ve done quite well as 0.2 out this month, 0.1 last month, not as good as my guess last summer and september, as my winter punts are nowhere near.
  23. After a sunny morning where the max was at 15.8c it`s been rain on and off/ some showers coming into the rainband also which seems to been not moving east much as the clearance has gone back further west. It`s actually the coolest start of september daytime since this date. http://www.wetterzentrale.de/archive/ra/20...00120010901.gif
  24. Those were the exceptions to he rule with the coldest august`s of the 20th century and this month has had mainly mild/warm SW-ly with warm upper air very warm last few days. As 1986 had this beast to deal with with  a very cold NE-ly and frost beforehand nothing of the sort this month.
  25. Agree there no sun this morning/very light wind and dull with some hill mist then the light rain come then a heavier pulse a very poor end to summer with nothingness really no thunder and 16.2c max.
