  1. Is it heading our way? Looking at the radar it appears to be moving NE rather than E? Or am I missing something!
  2. Gone very dark here and raining heavily! Keep thinking I'm hearing thunder but I think it's the demolition work going on across the road!
  3. Hi Backtrack, They are connected to GFS which has 4 runs each day, 00, 06, 12 and 18. These start coming out in this order: 00z - 4am 06z - 10am 12z - 4pm 18z - 10pm Each run has slightly different data attached to them, the other Forecasting systems that are good to follow: ECMWF - European Forecasting model UKMO - Met Office forecasting model GEM - I think is the Canadian forecasting model These can all be found here @ Netweather or here if you like German http://www.wetterzentrale.de/topkarten/fsenseur.html Hope that helps! I'm not going to get excited yet until the major models are consistent @ 96hours...even then I'll be hiding behind the sofa!
  4. I saw that cloud Paul, but nothing came of it! Good towers going up all around but they don't seem to have the final oomph! (if you know what I mean!)
  5. Thanks GP, this could end up being a very interesting winter (from a coldie pov!)
  6. Just a quick question for you or C, would there be any difference to our weather here if the El Nino was west based instead of east based? Thanks
  7. An interesting piece from a Pro-Met over on Eastern, it gives good explanations about the different teleconnections which could be of use for over here... http://www.easternuswx.com/bb/index.php?showtopic=205478&st=0
  8. Hi! We're going to Gaucin this Saturday which is just north of Estepona in the mountains, and I've heard that the temps are close to a 100F?? Is there any chance of rain in the next couple of weeks to help cool off! <_<
  9. Can see lightning over Redhill way and the north of the airport. Just a long train of dark cloud from north east to my north west! No sure if any of them are going to hit here but it's nice to view them!
  10. The storm that you could on the Worthing cam is now just to my SW, lots of flashes and now getting heavy rain! Just when I have to wake up my little boy to give him his feed! <_<
  11. Totally agree! One weird thing is that the rain direction is coming in from the NW? Whilst the clouds are heading NE? Shear at work? Anyhoo still thundering, a little brighter but dark to the south and just seen some more lightning from that area...loverly!!!
  12. I'll take the thin green line in FI please Bob... http://91.121.93.17/pics/MT8_London_ens.png I wonder how hot that would be!
  13. Damn it! I could see the heavy rain, but I couldn't see any lightning or thunder! B) Problem with working in an office!
  14. I can see a beautiful mature CB to my north (probably over south london) that's gone up within the last half an hour or so! Dry and sunny here, too far south unfortunately!
  15. Even I'm breathing that little bit easier now!
  16. Hey I'm not getting funny, I'm just giving my opinion.. Anyway I'm sure the Thundery showers/storms will gradually get bigger and better as the week goes on!
  17. Of course everyone is entitled to their opinion...but yours is wrong! A thunderstorm (in my opinion and probably every other person on the planet) is when there is some lightning and thunder from a Cb cloud, I can't understand why that is difficult to understand? Anyhoo some congrats to Estofex for their forecast but also to the Met as I noticed on their rain graphics this morning it showed sharp showers breaking out over the Pennines.
  18. Yes part of it, that wind would have been caused by the downdraft that happens when there is heavy rain which brings down some cooler air which then goes along the ground, obviously more pronounced in the States but not a bad example today! It's funny how on the satellite the storm over East Anglia explodes just like they do on the Continent! A good day for most people, but alas some people do miss out!
  19. If you catch it quick, there is a beautiful example of an outflow boundary: http://www.sat24.com/homepage.aspx?html=zo...260&yas=220 You can see it head south from the storm over Surrey! I wondered why it had started to get cloudy!
  20. After the sun has come out, there is a surprising amount of convection going on in this neck of the woods! It's like in Florida where if you look at the cloud long enough you can actually see them growing! Getting dark to my ESE
  21. Apparently on TWO, a guy who lives in Dawlish is currently having a thunderstorm! Good start to the day I'm not expecting anything here so please, lots of pics!
  22. Just having some large drops of rain, but not particular dark around here.
  23. Just had a small shower with about 5 seconds worth of hail! I can see your shower Coast, looks a nice little one! I can also see some quite tall Cu over the coast to my South and southwest which if it grows could turn into storms as they jog along the coast!
  24. I bet Paul, Lorraine etc were well pleased when he opened that door at the end!! I can imagine quite a few expletives under Pauls breath!! I've decided to do a tour in 2011! Wife and child is going to stay with relatives in Austin whilst I go tornado huntin'
