  1. Thanks BFTP, just a general thought from me, when does the QBO go positive? Isn't that during the winter period? Doesn't that encourage a strong polar vortex? I know not necessarily in the Greenland area but knowing our luck it will do!
  2. Heavy shower literally 1 or 2 miles to my west! Looks thundery but I haven't seen any lightning from it yet. All the showers this morning have skirted us here, which is a bit disappointing!
  3. Yep, under that Harry! Torrential rain at the moment! But no thunder...yet
  4. oooo I'm in surrounding area! Do you know when that is predicted to hit? Cheers Pat!
  5. odd spot of rain, but ground still dry!
  6. On the BBC website this morning it mentions the chance of Thundery showers for overnight, best chance for Sussex! Then more chances on Monday for the SE in general
  7. Good old Rob has just mentioned the possibility of a thunderstorm for the SE Friday night/Sat morning! Something to keep an eye on!
  8. Thunder just to east of here (East Grinstead), shower developed within last half an hour.
  9. Yep, sun out here also, I think we're too far east and south for the "thorms" as Mr Wilson used to call them!
  10. Really? I can see some darkish clouds to my south and south west, but it's mostly sunny here!!
  11. The best thing today apart from the heavy showers was the fantastic cloudscapes! Reminded me of Brens Florida chases! http://www.1whitley.co.uk/chaseflorida.htm That always gets the juices flowing in respect to storms!! Taken from this excellent site: http://www.eots.co.uk/chase/chase.htm
  12. Well it was nice and pleasant in the sun until about an hour ago when we had a wet snow shower! A lovely surprise and pretty heavy too with big flakes!
  13. I thought it was supposed to be dry today?! It's now snowing with biggish flakes! What a lovely surprise!
  14. Cheers Coast! Proper wet snow here now, planes still taking off so Airport is still fully functional!
  15. Rain and sleet this morning, only in the heavier precip does it change to wet snow. Ground wet so nothing laying but I should imagine the downs will get a couple of cms out of this! A totally OT question, I'm driving to Bexhill this evening from Crawley, how is the A259 looking now? I heard it was closed between Eastbourne and Bexhill yesterday!
  16. Just having a light snow shower at the moment, not amounting to much but nice to see anyway!
  17. Damn it! I'm on the Surrey/West Sussex/East Sussex boundary! Oh well going to Bexhill for the weekend so hopefully still some snow around down that way!
  18. Moderate snow now! Very nice to see! As to the moaners, well they have moaned all winter! I can't believe anyone has a right to moan (unless they perfer mild) about this winter considering how cold and wintry it's been! Almost wish for a Bartlett to take over so that they will really have something to moan about! Jeez!
  19. Rain, sleet and snow on/off all morning. Nice to see snow falling again though considering just a few days ago we were due to be mild and wet!
  20. Still snowing but now only moderate so gradually dying out, now settling on grass and cars but roads are clear, maybe a little but slippery as schools are ringing up for Parents to pick up their children! Unbelievable!
  21. Still snowing heavily...still not sticking!
  22. Heavy wet snow for the last 45 minutes! Not settling yet though
