  1. Lovely consistent snow flurry here, not just one or two flakes but a proper flurry! (If that makes sense!) Starting to settle on cars etc, although it does get blown off by the wind! Lovely to see and if this is the last hurrah of winter then I'm happy
  2. Yes John, radar is starting to come to life! http://www.netweather.tv/index.cgi?action=radar;sess= And by the sounds of Steve's update, it's not anaprop!
  3. To be honest, it'll be nice to see some more snow for the last time before Spring arrives! I'm not bothered if it doesn't settle as for me it's been a pretty good winter. Seen more snow falling and laying than the last two winters put together!
  4. Funny cos I read Ian F's update and the Meto update to suggest that initially dry and cold, and then as the HP moves further north to allow more convective potential further inland? And/or possibly a deeper cold pool to come across us?
  5. Well after having sleety snow earlier this afternoon (due to evaporative cooling) it turned back to sleety rain until the last 10 min when there is definite big snowflakes in the rain.
  6. Definite sleet here now! With some proper snow flakes in there! Wasn't expecting this as I thought we'd be too far south and west, nice!
  7. oooo so close! I'm in Tilgate (Crawley) I wonder if I get my binoculars out I can see the snow your way!
  8. Just started snowing again, not very heavy just small flakes. It did start of as rain as the dp has gone up to 0c
  9. oooo hello, that latest radar image on raintoday shows a nice big lump just coming on shore, it looks like it's got my name on it! Temp 1 dp -1
  10. Very light snow now here after starting at 5.15pm which then get heavy for about an hour and half. Slightly wet snow so alot of slush on the roads etc. Best snow flakes of this spell though!
  11. Got another couple of inches here at least, on top of the 3 to 5 inches the other day. I think Crawley was just about within the darker echoes for most of the day. A good 6 inches where the snow has not been disturbed. However main roads are clear so well done to the Council!
  12. Small flakes but lots of them! Getting a good covering, will be happy if this keeps up for a few hours as we should have a couple of cm. First time since 2010 that we've got new snow on top of old snow! If we get some more snow tomorrow then I'd have to go back to the mid 80's for the last snow on top of snow on top of snow!
  13. Light snow started here (next to Gatwick) at around 7.45, now I can see heavier snow approaching from the SW.
  14. You just made me spit my tea out all over the PC! Thanks!
  15. It's been a real sh£$ty couple of months what with my wife suffering two mis-carriages and then her Nan died last Saturday! But do you know what, I'm going to celebrate Christmas tomorrow with my wife and two young boys as if it's the last, as you never know what life is going to throw at you, Merry Xmas everyone!
  16. This is a question to those who have travelled along the A27/A23/A24 in the last couple of days. I'm due to deliver pressies to my sisters who live in Worthing and Sompting tomorrow am. I'm leaving from Crawley, which route would be best to avoid any flooding? I'm normally travel down via through Henfield but I'm guessing it's probably best to avoid that route! Cheers peeps!
