  1. Absolutely mental rain here. Glad I live on top of a hill!!
  2. Persisant heavy rain in Belfast. The models had been predicting the rain would impact Scotland more, however, it appears to be further West and Eastern Counties of Northern Ireland is bearing the brunt. Already standing water on the roads and with the rain possibly lasting all day, a would expect some news worthy flooding reports.
  3. Yesterday, the weekend was looking good now its not, however, if it's going to rain, lets have rain with a bang!! https://max.nwstatic.co.uk/gfsimages/gfs.20140717/06/57/ukprec.png
  4. All this heat is unbearable, when's the rain coming. :-)
  5. A pretty wrong forecast from Carol Kirkwood this morning. The 8am chart behind her head, had heavy showers and slate grey skies across Northern Ireland, yet the Met Office actual Radar had no rain at all, I think the computer was over egging the front moving into an area of building high pressure. Lovely morning here in Belfast.
  6. Finally Summer is arriving, wouldn't expect much in the way of rainfall over the next ten days as high pressure will be close by. Gorgeous day today.
  7. Amen to that!!, It has been a miserable two months over here. Finally the models appear to be settling on a settled period of weather, and with a UK based high, the temperatures should be just right.
  8. Fine margins in the model output over the positioning of the Atlantic trough. If it stays mid Atlantic then the chance of very warm/hot conditions encroaching into the British Isles, especially for the South East. If however, the tough moves East, then potentially very wet. At least we will be on the warm side of the trough so it will be very mild at the least and warm in any sunshine.
  9. Pressure building South from the North looking the form horse for mid month. Meto long range would concur.
  10. Rain rain rain rain...never stops. A very poor May for dry weather, can't even get my grass cut.
  11. Rain for Glasgow tomorrow. Never mind though. MON THE SHED!!!!
  12. This model thread will probably last till next Winter! The only change I can see in the 12z is that it will be less wet and windy but still unsettled.
  13. Well that's it folks, Winter is over for any widespread frost and snow. A truelly awful Winter snow wise, meanwhile over in the NE states a familiar picture of snow and ice.
  14. Mental wind and driving sleet here. The neighbours garage door has blown in!
  15. Once the Ukmet threw in the towel it was clear the ECM would follow.
  16. Once again Ukmet over amplifying in the T+120 hour period, GFS remaining resolute with its default zonality making look better than it really is. I expect the ECM will fold again tonight and that will be that for a widespread lowland snow/frost spell this Winter.
  17. 18z not so keen on the Saturday snow, more of a sleet fest.. http://cdn.nwstatic.co.uk/gfsimages/gfs.20140210/18/108/prectypeuktopo.png
  18. GFS still keen on 6am snowfall even though Met Office not going for it... http://cdn.nwstatic.co.uk/gfsimages/gfs.20140210/18/12/prectypeuktopo.png and then snow showers throughout the day. http://cdn.nwstatic.co.uk/gfsimages/gfs.20140210/18/24/prectypeuktopo.png
  19. A pretty decent snow event starting to show its hand for Saturday morning now, two GFS runs in a row showing supreme potential on top of a generally wintery week ahead.
