  1. Well after this mornings poxy rumble of thunder, I'm currently sat outside enjoying a spot of lite lunch with a friend, and I've just looked up to see some really promising cloudscapes.
  2. Just woken up to a distant rumble of thunder. Gone are the azure blue skies... The sky looks very dark slate grey and promising.
  3. I see that something is already happening to the north west of Ireland. Like wise northern Spain and over the Pyrenees also currently look s quite juicy as well https://www.lightningmaps.org/?lang=en#y=54.5084;x=-5.1094;z=4;t=3;m=sat;r=0;s=0;o=0;b=0.00;n=0;d=2;dl=2;dc=0;
  4. This time last week I was more or less stood in the river Severn at Arley (don't ask - but photos can be proved upon request. Lol) and I can say that I noticed last Friday's storm breaking around me, and quite enjoyable it was too especially when it hit Anyway... At the moment here in North East Wales we've got azure blue skies but with a strong southerly breeze, which is just taking the edge off the temperatures. As others have said this is now gonna come down to nowcasting and radar watching. Again this looks for me like it could go either way... Very much a 50/50 event. I'm hoping, but also not getting my hopes up just incase, as I remember the 19th of July last year all too well... The cape and LI figures for my area wee just incredible, and all we had was just one poxy clap of thunder the following morning. But good luck to everyone out there with this thundery breakdown, and I hope it produces the goods for (if sadly not all of us) at least some of us I'll report back if and hopefully when something changes around here.
  5. Although a sunny and blustery evening here in North East Wales, looking over towards the Pennines... Although unlikely to go bang this evening, it's still a step in the right direction.
  6. Could have sworn I've just heard distant thunder coming from the Wrexham area.
  7. Although I'm not in an area that's at a (low) risk of storms today, it's nice to see such a frothy sky Good luck to everyone who's in one of the areas highlighted for some convective action today.
  8. Nice to see the convective cloudscapes today, far more impressive than Thursday/Fridays so called thundery breakdown. Lets hope something goes bang this week for us all.
  9. For the past two hours now it's been trying to rain... Trying being the operative word. It's not even enough to wet the ground or dampen the dust down. Personally I'm ready to throw the towel in on this so called thundery breakdown. Thats not to say that others won't get anything, and I hope you do, but for me, this whole thing has been a complete bust ... Ahh well... Let's hope for a better thundery breakdown for everyone soon
  10. It's gone very cool and breezy here in the past half hour... And the sky now looks like there is mist and fog rolling in... Not a good sign ... Hopefully this will change *prays to the weather gods*
  11. The sky this morning has got that bluey/pinky/hazy look to it, that it normally gets whenever a storm is potentially/hopefully brewing
  12. Sadly (and as I expected) today has been a bust for this area... Still... There's always tomorrow
  13. Just about to pop into Asda to get something for me tea, and that's when I looked up at the sky Although personally, I'm not expecting much activity around here, it's nice to see signs like this
  14. In the past hour the sky has gone dark/cloudy to my south... I'll try and get a pic. ... Doesn't feel as humid though.
  15. Morning all, in the past hour the heat has really started to build up here in North East Wales... I'm outside, so not sure of the current temp, but it certainly feels a lot more humid. We've currently got clear blue skies, but with a very hazy appearance to them... Just like we normally get when something is brewing Good look to everyone who's hoping to get something from this current storm threat
  16. Just been out with the dog before I go to bed, and I have to admit that I was quiet shocked to see the cloudscapes looking so full of promise! As I personally wasn't expecting to see any form of development until tomorrow... No guarantee of a storm I know, but still an encouraging sign
  17. Evening Summer 1976 I have to be honest, I'm sort of thinking the same as well
  18. Evening everyone I have to say, after what seems like an eternity, what a beautiful day its been Crisp, clear, blue sunny skies, stunning towering, convective cloud scapes, hail, wind, and for a few some thunder as well Such a lovely change from the grey bore/gloomfest that appears to have plagued spring 2017
  19. Evening Lassie23 Yeah... But think of the storm potential
  20. An early autumn you say? Sorry, I'll calm down now... Evening CreweCold I wonder if the slightly wetter than average conditions shown are because of thunderstorms?
  21. Speaking from a totally personal and IMBY perspective, I'd gladly take a re-run of summer 2015. It was pleasantly sunny here, and when it did go hot and humid, it went bang big time But realistically speaking, as long as there is lots of usable weather, so the barbecue can get used, an with plenty of spiky storms in the mix, then I'll be happy One thing is for certain, I do not want a re-run of summer last year... As that really was a totally miserable gloom-fest
  22. Nice to see some true bubbly convection going one around here for a change
  23. From a totally IMBY perspective, I think its safe to say that the March winds are blowing this morning!! But the sun's out, and it feels really quite pleasant ... Albeit blustery
