  1. By the time I am back from Scandinavia I may be sick of snow. Hehe. But seriously by March I will be craving spring weather, more so with Easter early this year. Would like to enjoy the garden once more!
  2. I don't deny we dont enjoy the continental climate so many others do but all I am saying it doesn't rain as perpetually as you make it out to be (Most of the time, of course recently has made a good go of it lol!). We do enjoy extensive dry periods from time to time. Our weather and climate like the rest of the world is always changing in some way.
  3. A beautiful sunny day again from beginning to end. Again, another imagine 'if it was only early spring' with some early warmth. Still, it is fast approaching us now. Looking forward to experiencing some extreme cold in Scandinavia in February and hopefully enough to snow to fill my boots (literally) for a lifetime. Hope to see the northern lights though so would like it cold and clear! Will be venturing 200km into the Arctic circle into Swedish Lapland.
  4. Pretty much anything is possible in this world! Who would have thought we would had 2 winters with such extreme 24hr/48hr rainfall totals would have occurred so close together? Our climate really is not quite as bad as you make out to be. Lol.
  5. Just spared the people of Eglwyswrw that record of the most consecutive days of rain then! Phew!
  6. A superb sunny day here. One of those days where from indoors at least, you could imagine it being 15c warmer (A big ask I know) but it being that first really pleasant spring day of the year. Brings a happy feeling for sure! However a very cold one out their tonight. Everything white with frost already and a hint of mistiness. Whether that transpires to freezing fog who knows. Wouldn't mind seeing some. Suspect as the mild spell ensues and we fast approach the end of february, the time for widespread fog will be on its last legs before autumn.
  7. Spring is easy to forecast. March, average rainfall/sunshine/temps. April, complete high pressure domination and likely warmer than average at least by day. May, cool and wet. Lol. I will be nervous if another warm dry April comes along but it seems our seasons are upside down these days. Watch the Greenland High evolve around late may again... Absolutely nothing can beat that first truly warm, sunny spring day though, taking a walk through the fields or woods and listening to the sounds of nature and it's reawakening.
  8. Last night we were right on the warm front boundary. Ruined any chance of snow and pushed the proper cold air away. So so annoyed it has all turned in to a damp messy squib affair again. thankfully winter is ticking by fast now. Can't wait for it to finish now. Nothing can beat that first warm spring day with everything bursting into life.
  9. So it looks like the Atlantic will just walk through from tonight. Just rain for all of us except the highest ground. So bored of this winter now.
  10. The east always finds a way of managing to join in on interesting events and we lose out at the last minute. Always happens.
  11. To add insult to injury I can see the orange hue to the clouds to my East, indicative of snow. Never doing one of those long analysis posts I did last night again. Clearly not rewarded for my efforts! Lol! Mega disappointment especially as this is displacing the cold air meaning the mild air can win out even easier this coming week.
  12. Are you back in Oldbury now? If so this is a staggering sharp contrast in weather. Still drizzle here.
  13. All fading away so think I will be throwing the towel in now. Complete waste of time to be honest. Time for Spring and Summer to hurry up and arrive now. Bored of winter.
  14. HOLD THE PRESS! Some SLEET here now. By that I mean about 3 snowflakes mixed in the heavier drizzle.
  15. The pure cheek! MO say it should be heavy snow here right now. LOL.
  16. EURO4 at least has a little light snow over us around 6am in the morning. Pathetic still really to what could have been. Had our name all over it till this morning.
  17. All looks to slip just to our East imo. The weather gods really hate us here.
  18. Big developments here!!!!!!!!!! The drizzle has become even lighter.
  19. Where abouts are you in the black country out of interest? Still drizzle here like a mild autumn night. In fact it is rather Isles of Scilly esque with drizzle and low cloud/mist!
  20. Some hi-res models seem to show the front slightly intensifying again tomorrow rather than dying out completely so explains why the MO now have more light snow symbols scattered around tomorrow daytime. Won't amount to much but looks like the snow line may finally move west a little bit for some flurries here.
  21. Hope so but Kingstanding is still a fair bit NE especially in relative terms wrt this set up. :/
  22. Have to say this dividing line tonight looks crucial as to Monday's dividing line as well. Seems like the same dividing line could be in place then so I am going for west of Birmingham as rain on Monday should any ppn make it here. Snow to the East, should it make there.
  23. How high up are you? Oldbury is not that far away but may as well be in the Highlands of Scotland and myself in the Isles of Scilly for the difference in weather right now!
