  1. That doesn't surprise me! I saw someone on our road mowing the lawn too. Even our grass is looking longer than usual and it isn't out of the question we may give it a cut of a decent enough dry window approaches.
  2. Do you think you should find another hobby Richard? Weather clearly doesn't do it for you. And as for the wind, if the current 30-50mph wind gusts are causing you issues then God help you in a proper storm. That's nothing for Scotland. Never causes us sleeping issues down here. Then the soul destroying dross? I recommend going to the cinema, playing sport or something. Take your mind off what is pretty average stuff for December (I'm talking about cloud/drizzle). Merry Christmas!
  3. Indeed yes. Another incident of typing too fast on my iPhone and the fact o is right next to I on the qwerty keyboard! Lol
  4. Stunningly mild day. Had the shirts out and it was extremely pleasant.
  5. I've just walked the dog in a t shirt and shorts. Extremely pleasant conditions. Obviously this in July would be cool but at this time of year, not at all.
  6. Superb weather today. A bit cloudier currently but has been quite sunny and nr 15c. Shorts are out to walk the dog.
  7. The rain shadow effect is just extreme it seems at the minute. Massive differences between western slopes and the rest of us. Maybe just amplified because of the high totals and high moisture from the SW. The next week on the whole looks somewhat drier for most of us in the south. Even most of Wales doesn't look to have too much prolonged rain hence I think the Severn etc should be ok overall although 1 very wet day looks probable. No doubt records would be broken here too though if it had had Cumbrias amount too. It's Cumbria and environs that look to suffer most unfortunately still over the next week. Goes to show anything is possible unfortunately and no room for complacency. These waving fronts can sit over certain places for as long as they want, raising rainfall totals and rivers ever more.
  8. T shirt weather here today. Very mild and so does a fair bit of this week!
  9. Mostly dry day here but lovely and mild. Took the jumper off when walking the dog so just had a t shirt on. Just doesn't feel very festive though.
  10. Conversely as the days get shorter the weather gets hotter! Oh the beauties of lag. Lol.
  11. Funnily enough, that line seems to have been said for the last 240 hours too. Alas, such charts are not getting any nearer to fruition.

Hope you didn't go all that way just to get your profile picture to match with your username. Lol. in all seriousness, looks like an interesting place to visit.
  13. Very windy here too today. Trees and poles swaying lots. At least it has been dry and we look to continue to see a mostly drying out process in the coming week. Still some rain but not as much as recently. Dread to think what to think some our riverside towns would be like if we were having Cumbrias rainfall. Would be some very major flooding so we are very lucky. Anything is always possible Imo in this world. We could have been seeing record breaking flood levels. Thankfully we have escaped with just a windy day really!
  14. Because we have so many hit and humid nights in this country.... Just a week and a but until the evenings start drawing out again! The good times will soon be round. But yes, Christmas is a good distraction now for the next few weeks from that. I do enjoy very much all the houses lit up at this time of year.
  15. Yes I would like to concur with these thoughts re Greenland. Very much like northerlies to the uk. In FI they look like clean beauties but as higher resolution kicks in the short waves kick in and it all becomes much messier in general most of the time. The same happens here and I have seen it much myself. Unsurprising given the locale around Iceland-Greenland is practically an area of semi permanent low pressure. I always think for most things nothing is impossible and hence with the weather especially there will always be times a clean shift of the PV towards Siberia will occurr but as the time nears, it can't help be favoured that bit more, a chunk of PV reimagining stubborn near Greenland and effectively, bottling the cold air or the true interest up north still.
  16. This is perhaps the spice of life. Everyone has different interpretations, different stances, sees things that somebody else doesn't and can change opinions. Makes things interesting and fluid. Would be boring otherwise!
  17. Yes it certainly doesn't feel like early December. Still a fair amount of leaves on some deciduous trees here. Plus the mild weather means it still feels more like mid autumn.
  18. What on earth caused this unexpected snow? Uppers and thicknesses were nowhere near enough according to the charts? Was it very heavy precipitation bringing the cold air down? Understandable if that was so as all the way down here the rain turned very torrential on the squall. if only those surprises would happen down here in the tropical south!
  19. Some serious road flooding around here this evening. Some of the heaviest rain I have seen in a long time. Torrential. Some notorious roads almost impassable.
  20. Almost everyone I know has welcomed and been pleased at how mild it has been. Swings and roundabouts and all that!
  21. Extremely happy with 10th, especially as it's the first year I've really taken part and I missed 1 month too. thanks to all those who keep this going. Most appreciated. I always look forward to the new scores each month. Great to see how much changes over time! Like everything else I suppose!
  22. Rather patronising post IMO! It's up to each individual what they want to do. To me, I think it's nice to have the key points/text displayed here. May save the bed to click on the link and load further pages. Still, the link serves as a reference and a point for further information should one want it. I have done this many times in the past. Don't really see why it's a problem?
  23. Another pleasant day. Cloudier now but very sunny earlier and mild.
