  1. Indeed. Can only assume there was a strong downdraught/intense downpour associated with it to bring down the colder air to lower elevation.
  2. Not sure we could get any sort of snow flurries today? Just rain here. Not heard any other reports of such thing in the southern half of the U.K.? Still, pretty much anything is possible in this world!
  3. Thanks mate. Last night I was wound up in the model moans/ramps thread and elsewhere a bit. Hopefully it won't happen again. But yes, positively balmy out there today. The sun has been out a bit too. Not quite enough to get the shorts out though.
  4. I haven't checked ssts for a while though a good chance they are above what they should be for the time of year with so much air sourced from warmer origins. Only problem with this weather is when it rains and you need a coat, you sweat loads. Conversely, without you end up like a wet dog still. Lol.
  5. Damp here but not hat much rain here. Story of this spell really for here. Frequent rain but not large totals. Considering taking a break from this forum though. A few don't seem to appreciate my contribution here. Not in this thread I must add.
  6. Come on you have pretty much confirmed what I have said elsewhere on this forum. Seems no one can agree with me tonight on here. Many of us live south and east of our mountains and hence have not been too wet. I have said it has been rather dull and you have seen that in morecambe too. In morecambe I'm not surprised you are getting more rain right on the coast. Maybe I should detail western coasts/counties and western mountains in future to avoid being constantly disagreed with on this. For the vast majority of the population, I.e eastern Scotland, be England, Midlands, east anglia and the south, it has been damp but not a washout. What I have been trying to say elsewhere on this forum all along....
  7. I know where it ends up thank you very much? Seems to be a number of 'patronising' likes supporting your post. Sarcasm or not, I don't appreciate those who seem to be showing signs of being against me here or as if trying to point out with a sign saying 'idiot here'. That's not what this forum is about (or at least I thought it was) and not what I am about either. Im disappointed if that's what some people are here - seemingly trying to shoot me down for contributing my viewpoint? I'm not stupid for those who maybe trying to make that out. I will stop posting and leave if my observations and viewpoints are not worth considering. I work full time and long days (just come in after being out the house for 14 hours) and don't really have time to post more thorough insights and viewpoints as I would like. But please assume I hold some common sense otherwise I may as well not bother? I have been on this forum for about 9 years and studied geographical and hydrological topics for years. I'm well aware of where water ends up thank you. I enjoy coming on netweather and contributing (and to get away from normal life briefly). It's a shame some seem to think my posts are invalid. Would like to think I have earnt a bit of respect to not deserve patronising comments/actions.I'm just talking about what is actually falling in ones location. For most of us, we won't be seeing huge amounts. But yes, downstream of some Rivers, flooding could be an issue - I.e NW Wales and western Scotland. Given the location of the highest rainfall, still going to affect a very small number of people only. Certainly not to mean they don't matter though. What I am saying is that it's not a countrywide washout and we have had worse spells. This is simply highly laden moist warm air dumping its contents as it rises over steepening terrain. Still, fairly standard Autumn stuff. Apologies for the rant above but I feel it's necessary. Just disappointed some seeming to be liking to try and show idiocy where it doesn't exist. I always try and be fair and support others. I understand people have a viewpoint, that many people don't have time to post comprehensive posts that cover every corner to cover their backs to avoid being shot down. Maybe I should have made it clearer I'm talking about rainfall falling in an actual location. Still, never mind...
  8. Wonder what Richard in Aberdeen thinks? At least records are attempting to be broken! Agreed Scott, it might not be very sunny but it's really interesting to see if records go. It's so warm here I might put my fan on tonight! Never done that in November before!
  9. Incredible. Some places near 17c according to xc weather. Considering in July some were facing the prospect of frost, our seasons really seem upside down!!!! However whilst it has been dull it hasn't been that wet for the majority of us. Yes it has rained most days but not large quantities. Only windward facing mountains seem to be getting large totals. But it's not a washout for most of us so certainly could be worse.
  10. Only in mountainous areas does rainfall look to be a problem. For the rest of us, just mild and damp sums it up. Could be far wetter really for the majority of us.
  11. Continuing very mild or warm overall. Brief cooler blip later this week then looks to go very mild again. Some rain and wind but nothing out of the ordinary and nothing to cause problems for the majority.
  12. Indeed even my 8.8c is starting to look comparitively freezing in relative terms lol.
  13. Quite. Being mid latitude we do really get a good dose of both sides if perhaps not the most extreme in terms of weather or daylight. Whilst i prefer longer daylight hours and I would like to experience briefly 24 he daylight I.e Iceland, even I would want some darkness for the body clock! Even I find the sun rises slightly too early near the summer solstice. Can be hard to get back to sleep in if the sun is shining brightly onto the bed room.
  14. I think this sort of thing is why us Brits love the weather so much. We can just about get anything but the exciting stuff in mainly small doses. However it keeps the appetite going for more without usually becoming more bored of something. The unpredictability ironically Keeps us interested in my opinion. If we knew what was coming for definite I doubt we would be any where near bothered. With daylight hours we get fairly good extremes. I do like the darker evenings before Christmas as it does add to the festive feel. It conversely makes the longer evenings even better. Vice versa for others too.
  15. Don't want to drift off topic anymore, but as a final comment from me, sadly in NW Wales on the windward side of the mountains you will all ways receive a lot more. For the majority of us, conversely a lotLess.
  16. Good for you then ! As long as you can get out and enjoy it, good I say. I'm glad because I just know a few people who are curtain shutters hate sun types and sadly they do seem more reluctant to get involved with some things (such as hard to get them out to play a game of footy on a pleasant summers day) so sorry if my post came across the wrong way, reading back after what was a very lomg hard day at work for me yesterday, I can see it wasn't very well worded and its intended humour at the beginning. We all have different experiences so I have probably been influenced just by what I have seen. Fundamentally i just like to see people make the most of each day. Importantly, it sounds like you do so therefore I'm happy.
  17. Lovely warm afternoon. Sunshine at last! Please stay!
  18. Sunshine! How great to see it again. Warm in it too. Was warm last night too. Had the windows wide open!
  19. I don't mean to say the above persons were so. Apologies if it came across as so. It's just a link I have made through wider experience. I know a few people who hate the warm sunshine and stay indoors a lot Of the time. Again. Apologies if it came across the wrong way, certainly not meant to be personal.
  20. It hasn't rained that much. Yes it's rained most days this week but not high totals overall. Plus it's been dry for some time so I'm sure the ground can cope. more rain to Coke but hardly anything too unusual.
  21. I bet you are one to leave your curtains shut all day. Lol.Is the sun and light really that bad to you? It all sounds very antisocial just wanting it dark all the time. Get outside, enjoy the outside activities.
  22. I thought you were one who appreciated the 4 seasons we had? Seems pretty big standard November fayre right now...
  23. So Steve is the weather God then? I may as well ignore every other poster on here then. What a load of tosh. Maybe he has other priorities right now? Peoples circumstances change. But anyway... It seems everyone else is wasting their time posting! Come on now PW.
