  1. Indeed! These two charts from ecm and gfs show some amplification in the Atlantic for a time next week, but as you say the overall pattern is changeable with temperatures generally around average ,all very Novemberish!
  2. Beautiful blue skies here this afternoon, wish it would last….., Beautiful blue skies here this afternoon, wish it would last…..,
  3. How can anyone say it’s game over for winter, when Winter hasn’t even started? There is no deep cold or anything synoptically to produce early winter weather in the Uk in the latest charts. Yes some cold incursions as the jet stream buckles , but the strong thermal gradient over the Atlantic keeps powering up the jet stream as it often does at this time of year…!
  4. It really is not acceptable to have forecasts such as today go completely wrong within a tiny time frame. With all the technology these days you would think that situations such as today would not exist ,but it does happen ,very frequently
  5. It was just very slow to activate the community page. I tried other websites and there was no problem at all and very quick...!
  6. Yes struggled again to get on to community forum, I have a very good signal on my phone where I am….
  7. Computer models have failed miserably again on precipitation forecasts, as the rain in the south was not showing up yesterday…..
  8. Just normal late Autumn charts at the moment . Any cold looks like being short lived but at the same time nothing screaming above average temperatures for a long period either. I always describe November as like being in a dark wet and windy tunnel. This year is no exception, but there will be light at the end of this grim tunnel in the not too distant future
  9. It’s Mother Nature , know one knows what will happen…..
  10. Well ,our Internet is extremely fast here ,had it redone a few months ago, it seems to be working okay at the moment though!
  11. Very unresponsive forum today......
  12. Yes ,for instance the " Jakobshavn " Glacier had been steadily growing for a number of years now ...
  13. With a high level of Shanon Entropy , there are so many cards on the table from the models. I think it’s about sitting tight and seeing how things unfold. At the moment the Atlantic is King, but it can’t carry on like that forever, we are due by the law of averages a drier spell soon, and generally drier this time of year equates to colder weather , but not always. What we don’t want to see is high pressure over southern Europe. That’s a cold lovers nightmare, but equally we want to see lower pressure over the Mediterranean and then we have every chance of seeing Winter magic , patience is required……..
  14. A long way off in model terms ,but a chart which would produce snaawww all the way down to lower levels even in the south..Brrrrrr
  15. Yep ,it’ll wait to the end of the month for you I’m sure
  16. Probably my most least favourite month is November, but 1993 that November was very cold on the 22nd with widespread frost and wintryness with a sprinkling of snow . November 2010 comes to mind has being bitterly cold especially the second half , where I recorded for the first time since I started taking daily weather records since 1986, a temperature of minus 10 c , so the coldest November I can remember, we rarely get that temperature in deep Winter let alone late Autumn! 2021 had some back edge snow on the last two days of November and it settled and lasted for a couple of days which again is unusual around these low lying parts!
  17. No you wouldn't! Do you know the implications if that would happen?
  18. Yes, been to Gigrin Farm near Rhayader in September , it’s one of the official Red Kites feeding station and it was a wonderful experience watching them feed in the hundreds although we did have to wait a long time for them to feed , but well worth the wait!
  19. You should go to beautiful mid-Wales there’s thousands of these gracious birds caressing the skies …..
  20. Yes have had that display a few times lately but took no notice. !
  21. One chart has to back down at day ten ,with gfs and ecm at logger heads again at this time frame. ...Interesting that I listened to the BBC ten day forecast last night online, and they were going with the gfs as the preferred model rather than the ecm ,which normally is their preferred choice.....strange!
