More 'Tosh'..
Other news, Heavy rain continues with the sun breaking leaving a lovely rainbow..With thunder all round. Rain so far 4.3mm
As in Magnificent view which it sounded like it was, sorry no offense intended, hope you see some wonderful thunderstorms tonight into tomorrow, i think my turn may come tomorrow as another batch pushes northwards.
-
Very heavy rain with fork lighting close by and deep thunder.
Magnifico!
-
Looks great for Birmingham northwestwards, as ever the bulk of Warwickshire is just slightly too far southeast, always so frustrating here in mid/south Warwickshire.

Solihull area does so much better for thunderstorms, just 19 miles northwest of my location really does make a difference, wish Solihull was still in Warwickshire.
-
Yes we are always too far east xStorm, Warwickshire literally is a thunderstorm free zone.
-
Ac Cas in the skies here. Nice, sunny and very warm too.
Enjoy before it's gone, get the waterproof clothing out is my advice.
-
Monday looks dare i say it autumnal with some strong winds and heavy rain, some tentative signs of the mythical cool and sunny weather bank holiday onwards, lets see if it arrives.

14.1c for me please.
Just slightly above average Costa, be brave like pjl20101 and go 15.1C, wonder if low sunspot activity will cause another dull month.

Yuck this has to be the dullest most humid summer for us midlanders for a long time, just horrible and so so boring like todays slate grey skies.

It's been an absolutely awful summer here, the humidity like today has been stifling and there is no end in sight, hoping for a cool and sunny summer next year but i fear the worst.
-
summers are actually getting hotter and by 2050 we should be seeing frequent hot summers on the 2003 scale every other year, but this year its all been doom and gloom and all thanks to el nino which was moderate to strong. We could be in for a very dry rainless winter by looks of things.
LOL, so you responded to tosh with even worse tosh.
The reason for the lack of cloudless days this summer is a dominant SW'ly Tropical Maritime pattern, Spring was much sunnier with airmasses sourced from Polar regions not the Tropically sourced airmasses from the mid atlantic.

Another lovely summers day from the SW, if you like humid, dull, drizzly weather that is.
-
Glorious weekend being replaced by humid cloudy rubbish, rising humidity always bring damn grey weather here in the Summer, now one of the dullest seasons, at least mild winters bring alot more drama on here, the forum is as dull as the weather in Summer.
-
As expected any HP settling things down has been pushed away by a strengthening atlantic moving in, looks wet and windy next sunday/monday on UKMO/GFS 12Z.

possibly, but thats at day 8, if it showed high pressure dominance at day 8 wouldnt you nay-sayers be dismissing it as its in fi?
And they would be right to going by the form horse this summer, when was the last HP dominance for any length of time, Slack nothingness is the form horse this summer.

Much fresher, drier and brighter today, yes it's the arrival of those nasty WNW'lys.
-
LOL, where's the heatwave, 15C and rain all day, these southerly plumes are useless, even cool sunny days feel warmer.

When will it ever end, dreadful charts for us who like pleasant cool fresh weather, more high humidity next week with a scandy high and easterlies, trust me you won't see one when you want one for any length of time, so frustrating.

Was in West Oxfordshire today and it rained properly for a few hours, never felt happier to see rain to freshen it up abit.
-
All I've seen Frosty doing is posting charts over 5 days ago bigging up any warm or settled weather constantly all summer, with most areas not getting anything like the kind of weather that people's expectations (not mine though) are played up to.
Well he's been right for me, very dry summer with only a few wet days like today and consistently warm/humid, nothing has gone wrong this summer just peoples too high expectations like last winter which i thought was pretty decent snow excluded.

Cloudfest today here, Friday was gorgeous.

Summer is nearly over though, there's 24 days left. If its warm at the start of September then it's just warm weather to start Autumn (or summer-like as mentioned above). Of course the first half of September is quite warm on average, but it doesn't change the fact its still Autumn. The same could be said if you get temps in the mid-teens in the last week of August, its Autumn-like, but still summer as far as the season goes.
Autumn and Spring are transitional months, the weather doesn't just abruptly change on the 1st March / 1st September, but regardless at that point winter/summer are over.
Hope you're right reef, dying for some autumnal weather now, looks like it's going to be a long wait, October is when we'll see some proper cool weather, charts look very slack and summery, everytime an atlantic low is forecast by the charts it stalls over iceland.
-
Heard lots today say it's a hot and sunny day even in Manchester.
-
Hardly noticeable to be honest, still plenty of daylight and light mornings, September is when you really notice it and even then still over 12 hours of light.
