  1. Bishop's in town, Andy. Our friends, who teach at Hounsdown nr Totton, came up for a BBQ yesterday. They're also done and dusted. They're off to France in a tent on Wednesday. Nutters.
  2. Won't be long. Blue skies moving in here now and the Sun is breaking through. Really pleased for the OH, as she's finished teaching for 6 weeks and the first week is usually a shocker. This week is looking great. Also happy with current storm forecast for tomorrow evening/night being further West, as we look out that way. It also means that the usual Eastward shift on the day might bring the excitement closer to home.
  3. I'm finding a lot of dead shrews on the farm track to Downton in the morning. Normally 2, or 3 new ones a day. They're not injured. Started noticing a couple of weeks ago. I'm wondering whether it's the lack of rain reducing their supply of worms? I hope that's all it is.
  4. Looks like a nice clear slot coming in from the West, on Sat24 and out of the kitchen window. Don't give up yet.
  5. Don't check it again now then. It's got worse again... But that's @Andy Bown's point. It'll chop and change. The fact that it now appears to be worse might be a good thing, i.e. it's trending towards pulling the rain band through earlier, maybe even overnight Thur/Fri. Who knows... The high res models (+48hrs) to cover Friday day won't be out until this evening, but if it's stressing you out, ignore them. It'll be a cracking day out whatever. So just check Thursday evening to see if you should pack a brollie and your boots. Remember - there's no such thing as bad weather, only bad preparation.
  6. Sat24 shows it burning back nicely to the East. It's been nice here this morning. Yesterday was lovely and tommorow looks great.
  7. Beautiful out now. Looks like there's more cloud heading this way from the North. Cloud cover earlier helped with my second weekend of concreting. Nowhere near as ruined as I was last Saturday.
  8. Only just seeing cloud to the North now, after a cracking day. Shame I picked today to do my concreting, based on the meto forecast for cloud. If I had the energy, I'd be slow hand clapping.
  9. Only on the phone so far. Will sort out the camera pics tomorrow.
  10. It's taken a low setting Sun, but finally we have some lovely Sunshine and it's feeling warm again ?️ <-- this pic, but the other way around.
  11. Normally more than happy to see these, but they're currently blocking out the Friday evening Sunshine that we've been promised all week... Still warm out though. Getting closer. Almost overhead...
  12. These just moved through... All very wavy up there. We're still out with our garden Glasto. Jungle up next.
  13. We're all set for our own Glasto weekend... Just waiting for 5 o'clock to roll around. All weekend jobs are on hold. Might cut the grass though.
  14. Are you using the 'Link' option - https://www.skylinewebcams.com/en/webcam/united-kingdom/england/torquay/torquay.html Looks like this...
  15. The NC thread assured me that I was looking at the right thing. The faintest whisp just before 11:30pm. Not much about after that, but it's a start and l'm quite tired now. Midnight is far too late for me.
  16. I'm down in Salisbury, where I guess it's a bit darker looking NNW... Am I looking at the same thing?
  17. Best year in 12 that I've known for Swifts round here. Both here and in Downton. Also, watching the House Martins ganging up and seeing off the Sparrowhawk daily has been awesome. Swallow numbers might be down though, but they're still about.
  18. Lovely day and more to come. We've come in now, but only 'cos the footie's on. ???????
  19. It should be breaking out over Glasto soon enough. Good luck to 'em.
  20. It looks much brighter to the South. Hopefully we'll get some evening sunshine, as we did yesterday at 5ish. This cloud can do one now. Hopefully that's the end of it.
  21. Cracking day on Saturday, but no Noctilucent Clouds for us, as the cloud rolled at Sunset. Not so nice yesterday, with further cloud cover and a bit of rain. Still, it was warmer out under the brolly, than inside. This morning, the radar suggests that we're on the edge of the rain band, under the lightest precip, but nothing is falling here. On to this evening, take your pick... We've got Gardening Club this evening, but if it's looking tasty West of Southampton Water, I'll bin that off to go and sit up a hill somewhere. I will however, wait for the afternoon runs and fully expect that I'll be spending my evening listening to a nice lady talking about apples. Hirlam goes earlier and West. Euro4, goes East and later. NetWx fancies a bit of both.
