Won't be long. Blue skies moving in here now and the Sun is breaking through. Really pleased for the OH, as she's finished teaching for 6 weeks and the first week is usually a shocker. This week is looking great. Also happy with current storm forecast for tomorrow evening/night being further West, as we look out that way. It also means that the usual Eastward shift on the day might bring the excitement closer to home.

Observations Of Nature Through The Seasons.

I'm finding a lot of dead shrews on the farm track to Downton in the morning. Normally 2, or 3 new ones a day. They're not injured. Started noticing a couple of weeks ago. I'm wondering whether it's the lack of rain reducing their supply of worms? I hope that's all it is. -
Don't check it again now then. It's got worse again... But that's @Andy Bown's point. It'll chop and change. The fact that it now appears to be worse might be a good thing, i.e. it's trending towards pulling the rain band through earlier, maybe even overnight Thur/Fri. Who knows... The high res models (+48hrs) to cover Friday day won't be out until this evening, but if it's stressing you out, ignore them. It'll be a cracking day out whatever. So just check Thursday evening to see if you should pack a brollie and your boots. Remember - there's no such thing as bad weather, only bad preparation.

I'm down in Salisbury, where I guess it's a bit darker looking NNW... Am I looking at the same thing?

Cracking day on Saturday, but no Noctilucent Clouds for us, as the cloud rolled at Sunset. Not so nice yesterday, with further cloud cover and a bit of rain. Still, it was warmer out under the brolly, than inside. This morning, the radar suggests that we're on the edge of the rain band, under the lightest precip, but nothing is falling here. On to this evening, take your pick... We've got Gardening Club this evening, but if it's looking tasty West of Southampton Water, I'll bin that off to go and sit up a hill somewhere. I will however, wait for the afternoon runs and fully expect that I'll be spending my evening listening to a nice lady talking about apples. Hirlam goes earlier and West. Euro4, goes East and later. NetWx fancies a bit of both.
