  1. Not out taking pictures, these are from Isle of Wight Breaking News. Conditions here are getting extreme to say the least, the last 30 mins the gusts have really ramped up and getting severe Will stay safe as with many other islanders we all pull together in situations like this

Reports just in for any islanders Road closures are as follows Beapers Shute, Brading High Street, Binstead Main Road and Lushington Hill, St John’s Train Station between Ryde Esplanade and Brading is completely submerged, The Broadway, Totland, Kemming Road, Whitwell, Barrack Shute, Niton, Island Roads have deployed the Flood Defence Unit to Greenway in Binstead to assist in protecting properties from flooding. The road remains closed this evening alongside St George’s Way in Newport and Briddlesford Road, Wootton. Will update when more reports come in
  4. some mighty gusts here on the Island now Time to batten down the hatches, torches/candles are ready as lights flickering, and many places on the island are also reporting lights flickering Sandown, Shanklin ,Ryde, Newport, East Cowes, Brading, Godhsill,Seaview and Bembridge Stay safe guys/Islanders Edit @ 00.15 Power cables now fallen in places on the island, have no idea how long i shall be on, but please stay safe everyone...

A lot of roads now impassable on the Island, and being an island there are not many other routes you can take to get to your destination without coming across other flooded areas, winds have ranked up also, some beefy gusts now Stay safe guys, also stay safe if have too travel, take extra time...

  15. Going to worse as the evening rolls in, between midnight and 3am gust expected of around 80mph
  16. I think Culver cliff face and the Cliff face at Shanklin will experience some short of erosion, and also Bonchurch and other areas, god knows how the Military road is holding out
  17. Wind is certainly increasing here again, and some pretty beefy gusts now too

  19. Would not take the Needles Weather Station to seriously, it is in a very exposed area right at top of the needles so it will pick up stronger gusts

  22. Up there ^^^^ My back garden flooding, got about 4 mm till it comes thru into my kitchen and cant get to any sandbags
