  3. Morning Island Lad Yeah i think it will will quite interesting later. There have been many closures on coastal paths this morning as they are quite unsafe and today will just add to the problem. Rain i think is going to be the main issue as quite a deluge to come, winds however i think may not be so bad, Storm Ulla is getting every bit closer to our shores as we speak, in a way im hoping she will loose intensity and it wont be so bad. If she dont loose intensity then it will be a rough evening/night My house is already damaged quite a bit from flooding, shed tilting and being held up by the wall, (contents of shed still in there too), Damage to the extension on the house, and umpteen leaks last few weeks, the builders have been in and done a temp job, only today will be the tester.. Stay safe guys, dont venture where necessary and stay away from seafronts..
  4. 5. Southern tip of IOW here, i shall keep NW posted as much as i can, the tide is a big concern as with the winds Stay safe guys Storm Ulla taking shape now out to the southwest http://earth.nullsch...4.96,40.70,1115
  6. As the storm approaches i shall try to give updates on how it is affecting us here, the tide is a big concern along with the winds, quite an exposed area so will be rough for a time but i shall keep the reports coming in. Storm Ulla taking shape now out to the southwest http://earth.nullschool.net/#current/wind/surface/level/orthographic=-4.96,40.70,1115 Please stay safe guys
  7. Haha same here *you cant flush this* Sorry but made my day..Sorry this is not storm related, but i now cant stop singing *you cant flush this* lol On a serious note, batten those hatches guys, please stay safe

  10. beautiful day here, took some photo,s whilst out an about The image below i was the passenger traveling in the car hence the swirled effect on the right hand side, i decided not to alter the image and left it natural, was took whilst driving over the Brading Downs Taken using my Sony Xperia SP mobile phone Image below is driving through Ryde country roads before you get to the Brading downs
  11. Loving the snow pictures guys, send it my way please!!! Rain, Rain, Rain here
  12. Morning all Stats 988.1 (rising 1.1mb/hr) (also reading Steady on and off) Rainfall 1.2mm (so far today) Rainfall month (84.0) Temp 4.7c Windchill 2.0c Dew point 2.6c Leaf wetness 15.0 Soil moisture 255.0c Gust last hour 22.3mph Humidity 87% Friday's storm is still going to happen, however it will not have the punch of Wednesdays storm, the winds will be strong and gusting to about 70mph, and maybe slightly higher in coastal areas, with a lot of rain, however anything can happen between now and Friday night, so some upgrading/downgrading may happen. Just have to wait for the runs/charts to come out. Anyway on a funny note i gets out of bed this morning goes to open my bedroom door but my foot was to close to the door so i open it and bang my head, goes to the bathroom, end up dropping toilet roll in toilet, then goes downstairs makes a coffee but also puts a tea bag in it (@rainybergen does cofftea ring a bell LOL) At that point i nearly went back to bed lol.....
  13. It been an horrendous day for guys with storm Tini i do hope people are safe and not putting themselves at risk, ive not been on and posted much as making sure my house is "ok" for Friday IF this storm comes off. We had several hours of it being very windy here with some beefy gusts, all quiet calm here now but the sea state is very rough.. Now i have heard conflicting evidence about Fridays storm, that one - it is just going to be a deluge of rain and nothing more (this has not come from NW but other weather sites)), two - whereas others are saying it may possibly be like today's storm, and by looking at the ensembles it is still pretty much on. It is too early to tell what this storm will do and im really hoping it dont come off that bad, and three - there will be no storm or accumulative rainfall amounts. So yeah pretty confused at preset, however looking at the runs etc it is still on We have had more landslips again today
  14. It is looking that way, and tracking more south then Storm Tini Just gotta wait for the models/runs to see really
  15. High tide now, im sure it will be much more choppier later with next high tide http://www.camscape.com/view/33889 http://driftwoodbeachbar.com/webcam/ The driftwood webcam is at higher part of the beach, further down by Yaverland its crashing over the wall and its not really a high tide
  16. Pressure dropping fast 994.9mb (falling -4.4mb/hr) Max gust last hour 34.0mph Temp 8.1c Certainly much wilder outside now Stay safe guys, and dont be out in it unless absolutely necessary As for Friday, batten those hatches down veryyy tight guys, Fridays LP looking scary
  17. Was awoken to thunder at 04.35 this morning and also a hailstorm, the rumbles where so deep my dog ran for it under the bed It is eerily quiet here this morning, calm before the storm as my mother would say. Morning stats 998.8mb (falling 2.7mb/hr) Max gust last hour 28.2mph Rainfall 6.0mm (so far today) Rainfall monthly 74.6mm Temp 7.1c Windchill 4.1c Dew point 5.8c Humidity 92% Leaf wetness 15.0 Soil moisture 255.0cb
  18. Update from Estofex now too http://estofex.org/ A level 1 was issued for southern Ireland, Wales and England mainly for severe wind gusts and to the lesser degree for tornadoes. DISCUSSION... southern Ireland, Wales, England ...Yet another deep low pressure system is expected to affect the area. In the dry intrusion, behind the main stratiform rain shield, intense pressure gradient is simulated with 40 m/s windspeeds at 850 hPa level just south of the low center. Both ECMWF and GFS hint on some marginal instability build up in this zone. Intense forcing could support a strongly forced convective line, where convection (downdrafts) would contribute to the strength of the wind gusts, which should be already very strong (coastal areas over 130 km/h) due to the background situation. Level 1 seems to be warranted for this questionable setup for severe wind gusts. Tornadoes are not ruled out either, given the intense low level shear, though they might depend strongly on the convective mode (isolated cell vs convective line). Greatest threat should exist between 12 - 15 UTC.
  19. You can just see storm Tini taking shape now http://earth.nullschool.net/#current/wind/surface/level/orthographic=-22.13,52.23,3000 This updates every 3 hrs
  20. Police outside my house...iz innocent honest On a serious note, not looking good at all for pretty much whole of UK, the rainfall i am more concerned about tbh, just down from me there has been a cliff fall, and im on the same hill, but a bit further along facing the seafront
  21. Looking pretty however on the other hand looking ugly http://earth.nullschool.net/#current/wind/surface/level/orthographic=-16.40,52.76,3000

  23. Well time to batten down those hatches once again, thank god most leaks in the house have been sorted and the builders have done a good job in what little dry day and sunlight they have had today. Am not looking forward to any of the next swathe of storms, but Fridays storm only brings this to mind Anyhow, will soon be spring and the next threads will be spring/summer storms, daffodils already out on the island in some places Stay safe guys, dont venture where not necessary. Great link below http://earth.nullschool.net/#current/wind/surface/level/orthographic=-16.40,52.76,3000
