  1. !2Z GEM brings -16 uppers for a time. Which I think would be the first time since 1991?
  2. 12Z GEM is bringing in the cold much quicker than on the 0Z. T120 and -10 uppers are reaching the southeast.coast.
  3. Milder air pushing into the SE on the Wednesday morning but still 3 very cold/snowy days before that.
  4. So far, so good. If anything, the cold looks like it might arrive a little earlier on this run.
  5. A little bit further north than the 12Z but still frustrating to see the main thrust of cold too far south again. Still very exciting pattern and it's all 200+ hours away on the ECM so details will change.
  6. Without a doubt the best GEFS in years. Very strong signal for the cold spell to kick in. After that, it's a split with one cluster going with the op and another keeping the cold for longer.
  7. Nobody said breakdown nailed? Commenting on the fact that there is strong support in the 18Z ENS for the op idea of milder air pushing up for the south in that timeframe. Stunning short range ensembles. Almost every member with uppers of sub -10.
  8. Seems to be a lot of support in the GEFS for the op idea of milder air pushing up for the south on the Wednesday/Thursday.
  9. The GEFS mean has colder uppers over the SE than the operational run at 156!
  10. A very snowy breakdown on the 18Z but turning quickly to rain. A bit early to be worrying about the breakdown though
  11. Milder air pushing into the far south, but with it comes the prospect of a major snow event for those still hanging on to the very cold air as fronts push up against it.
  12. The snow machine kicks in on Sunday morning. Bitterly cold in the east.
  13. Yes, looks like it might go down the 06Z route more than the 12Z, but a lot of variables so let's see what happens this time.
  14. A frustrating chart if ever I saw one. Snowmen on the French Riviera. Let's see how it sits in the ENS and what the 0Z will bring later.
